Hey Idiots- I HAVE worked in the field, side by side with illegal aliens, when I was in high school. So cut the ****. I hate you ignorant morons that act like Americans won't do it. Would I do it now? No, I cannot afford to do it now. I have way to many bills to be making minimum wage.

It’s complete BS.

The facts are that illegals are getting chosen over American’s for jobs because they are willing to work at jobs that SHOULD pay at least min wage, if not more, but are working at them for sub-minimum wage under the table (off the books) & being willing to work at a job the normally pays $10 an hr, for only $5.15.

It’s not that American’s are greedy or have poor work ethic, but that as tax payers & legit citizens of this country, we have the right to demand fair & decent wages, if not, a living wage. As a matter of fact, it’s part of what the labor movement of the 1900's were all about- setting standards for wages.

True…You know “any minimum wage jobs”, “cleaning toilets”, and “picking crops” are the obvious answers, but they are incredibly cheap. I am seeing more and more people that are willing to take a job, but they aren’t willing to do the job.

I’ve bet you have seen it too. Have you ever gone into a fast-food place, went to place your order, and the kid across the counter reeks of attitude because you interrupted his/her conversation with their friends? Or called a helpdesk, and the person at the other end is so busy trying to get rid of you that they don’t listen to find out what you’re calling about.

I’ve got a nephew who had a part-time job at a machine shop. It’s a hot, dirty job, not something that you could call a great job, but 3 months in he was already make $11/hr. Anyways, when asked whether he wanted to pick up more hours, he rejected it because it got in the way of his social life. In the end, he got fired and the boss found someone who was willing to work. His boss gave him every chance, he was this kids Uncle.

This is not something isolated to kids at entry-level jobs. In my field, I see young engineers (guys with 6 years of higher education) who want create their own “incredible” designs for widgets on the state of the art computers, but when asked to do the analysis to make sure it works, dimension it so that it can be manufactured, or develop a quality control program, you would think that you asked them to clean toilets.

Let’s face it; the American work ethic is gone. Word to the wise: when you take a job, the boss isn’t interested in why you couldn’t get the job done. He doesn’t care why you’re late for work the fifth or sixth time this quarter. He just cares about getting the job done. It is his livelihood. And for God’s sake, if you think you are underpaid, go and find another job, but prepare yourself for it.

Get the education and training to move ahead.

I'll tell you a whole bunch of jobs the Americans CANNOT do, work at walmart and home depot,, the people that work there now are so stupid, dirty, and worthless, ask them a question and they say, I'll find out and they disappear not to be seen again.

I've worked with and around enough Mexicans to tell you they would be glad to have those jobs and would work the asses off and be happy a the opportunity...

Before I went to college, I worked minimum wage jobs and so did my parents and the rest of my family. I know that argument is pure B.S.!!!!!

There is NO (legal) job an American won't do for a DECENT wage!!!!!!!!!! I had this discussion with my friend (who is mexican) and she said, "What's wrong with illegals working the field jobs, since most people don't want to do that"???? I said, for one thing, they are breaking our law, just by being here illegally. For another thing, who KNOWS what kind of people are coming here( we KNOW there are rapists, murderers,etc), OR what diseases they might be exposing us to ( it's a proven FACT that many diseases have increased, directly due to the influx of ILLEGALS!!) And, the government wants to give them free money (or reduced rates) for the ILLEGALS kids to go to college. I said,"Did they do that for YOUR kids or MY kids????? She thought about it,and said "NO!!! That's NOT FAIR"!!!!
I told her, the "ILLEGALS won't just STOP at working field jobs ( which they haven't!! They fill all kinds of positions)!!! Their kids and grandkids will get educated, paid for by YOUR tax dollars, they will then be able to get the better paying jobs, that YOUR son will not qualify for, unless he can get the money to go to college!!!!!
Also, the summer jobs that high school kids used to get,to help them buy school clothes and supplies, are ALL being filled by ILLEGALS!!!
I sent her articles on the HIGH cost of ILLEGALS to our hospitals!!!!!!!!!She could not believe the MILLIONS of dollars that illegals are costing the taxpayers, at just ONE of the hospitals!!!!!! AND, how they are draining our welfare system!!!
Well, recently her son had to have emergency surgery, and he had no hospital insurance!!! So she made arrangements to pay monthly payments to the hospital and doctor.
After the surgery and he went home,the hospital called to know WHEN she was going to pay the $8000 hospital bill and the $3000 doctor bill!!! Well, that REALLY ticked her off, seeing as how she had already made arrangements to pay them!!!!!! She said, " I am going to pay you, but if MY son had been an ILLEGAL,then we wouldn't have had to pay a DAMN THING, IS THIS FAIR"???
She now understands what i have been fighting against for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to work in the hospital and start in the cleaning service they have in there and see if the hospital will help with my school but all the jobs are taken by Mexican people I do not mind them hear if it legal but the illegal ones send them back I was told by my friend that most are on temp worker visa's to work in the hospital that I want to get work tired of eating doller store food my hubby makes too much money for me to get a help with school.

It's all BS, I will pick,clean,roof or build anything ,anywhere at any time,but on one condition,I expect a decent pay check so i can afford health care insurance for my family.As a 36 year old American citizen i don't qualify for food stamps or medicaid(at least in Ohio) so therefore cannot work for $5.00 per hour.Illegals can, because they can get public assistance for their children .
