Aidan is my son's name. It's a unisex name, and generally girls are named AidEn and boys are named AidAn, but it can go either way...there's no hard or fast rule.
The name has become increasingly popular/trendy lately. My husand and I picked this name for the meaning. St. Aidan was a 7th century Irish monk who was canonized after his death. He was a wonderful man, and very virtuous. I hope my younger son lives up to his namesake!

very popular. It is like how it was naming your kid Mike in the 60s. It is in the top 5 most popular names of last year.

Nice name, but overly popular right now. In about 5 years half the kindergarten class will be named that.
