all kids r different, my oldest son was potty trained before he was 2 yrs old but my youngest was nearer 3 yrs old.
it isn't something u can put a time limit on. once u start introducing the potty then persevere, don't be tempted 2 leave it for another couple of weeks. give him lots of praise when he uses his potty but don't make a big deal if he has any accidents, just show him again where he must 'go'. hopefully before u know it, he will be going 2 his potty instinctively whenever he needs 2 wee. once he's using it regularly start introducing him 2 the 'big boys' toilet, the sooner the better, this is so he gets into the way of going to the bathroom instead of the potty.
good luck :)

Is this opposed to teenage boys potty training??
What a dumb question. Now is this toddler 18 months old or is he 35 months old? What is his level of physical maturity? What is his level of verbal maturity? Good grief how could we know? Depending on how rapidly a child develops both physically and mentally will determine this. Some children are out of diapers at 22 months some not till 36 months or more. Aside from that I think the whole "training" thing is bizarre and barbaric anyway. As the mother of nine children I can assure you when it is time for a child to leave diapers behind it will take 2 or 3 days to happen. The trick is to be an intelligent mother and wait till the kid is ready and he'll do it himself!!!!!

It depends on if they are ready to potty train. It usually takes about a month for them to really get the process down. Make sure you have a little cup thing on the potty chair or else you will have urine fountains in your bathroom!

took mine forever! Both boys were well into age 4 and from what I've read, that's about normal. Girls tend to train sooner. Just be really patient and use LOTS of praise, make it something fun they want to do. Most of all, if they don't make it, don't be upset about it. "That's okay! You'll get it next time!"

Not long at all if you start them when they are able to sit up--one and a half to two years. If you start later, then it takes them that much longer to learn. I don't count bedwetting because that is another problem.
