My mother had my daughter trained by the time she was just over 1 year old. (She took care of her while I was working.) But my daughter didn't start training her daughter until she was around 2 & 1/2 years old because that is when she seemed ready.I think 2 or so is a good time to start that process if the child is verbal and can walk.

You have to wait until the child is ready there is no set age. It's definitely normal for a girl to be over the age of 2 and not potty trained.

Usually between 2 and 3 is when a child becomes able to be potty trained. Some take longer than others, and it should not be forced.

I don't think you should wait to potty train your kids because the older the harder then they try not to do it on purpose, all of my kids were trained around the same time, right when they turn 2. By then they start to know better, but they are not old enough to fight you on it.

It is said that you must teach a toddler to be potty trained when they show signs that they are ready. It's also been said that girls learn faster than boys. See iVillage.com to take the test and see if your child is ready. If you want to get the child off diapers it's probably a good idea to start teaching her number one and number two and see when she starts communicating it to you. Than buy a potty seat for your toilet and began.

My daughter was a little over 3, it's one of those things you just can't force until they're ready.

my niece is four now, but she was potty by her 2nd birthday. Day care is cheaper if they are at least two and potty trained.
