Yes it is important to be a good listener. The best way to of growing spiritually is by studying the work and then sitting waiting for God to talk to you. This is the best way to learn.

Yes, thats part of it. But the funny thing is that humans have this way of not understanding Jesus and his teachings or lessons. Thats why Jesus taught in parables. That's why people give testimonies in church. Because some people can't understand on some sort of level. But growing spiritually as in becoming a better person. I think it comes with experiences and dealings in life. But growing spiritually in God, reading his word and becoming apart of a ministry willl help you do that. But yes you have to be a good listener.

Yes, do not make the mistake of thinking you are always right. Always listen to your pastor, and those above you at your church. But in order to grow spiritually you need to have the truth. For more information read Acts 2:38

no, but rather live and follow your life as christ would. you grow within the heart, not by listening to everything as everyone has a differant view and you must form your own.
