Here, i would say it's Taco Bell, and Burger King. (Burger King is much worse than McDonalds I've worked at McDonalds and seen the difference of Burger King's cleanliness, it's soooo much worse.) You're right about White Castle being pretty disgusting too, but we don't have any of those in my city. (in canada)

In Preston, we have an area that has been designated " The food village" which is just a PC way of decsribing few kebab shops intermingled with burger joints and curry houses to create what they feel is a wonderland of international cuisine within a vibrant cosmopolitan city.
Shithole is another way of phrasing it. Concise, to the point and much more truthful.
McLibel is a bloody oasis after you have seen this late at night.
