Well said Claudia. People on this site need educating on immigration and also geography so they will see that Eastern Europeans are not and cannot be illegal immigrants. They have every right to be here as we have every right to travel to other European countries.
To be honest, I would be worried about my own capabilities if I was so concerned that an Eastern European could get a job over me. English is our native tongue, Eastern Europeans speak Polish, Russian etc, must be very difficult for them during interviews.
Listen to 'craphilia' again, small minded bigoted wh*re.

I am sick and tired of people knocking the Eastern Europeans who have come to the United Kingdom. These people have come to work and not sponge off the country like all the so-called asylum seekers who come over here and take the p*ss by abusing our hospitality. These people are costing the UK far more than the Eastern Europeans who are paying their way. They have taken a lot of the jobs that are traditionally difficult to fill and are working hard so get off their backs!

Make sure that you invite them into your country so that they must be paid the same wage rates and work in the same environmental conditions as you - that way you might compete on equal terms.

Alternatively, if you bar them from coming to your country they will take your job at a lower rate and worse conditions because they stay in their own country.

If you lose your job to an immigrant working in your country, your chances of keeping good prospects are good. The economy in your area will grow and there will be good employment. The people who got rich during the California gold rush were the people who sold shovels to the immigrants.

If you lose your job to a foreigner who stays in their own country, the chances are that your friends, family and community will all suffer as the economic growth will be exported.

You asked this question in the "immigration" section. Think carefully about the answers.

People from Eastern Europe are as European as you. They don't "take" your job, they work. They belong with a supranational community (called European Union) and have the legitimate right to move and work within its borders. Competition amongts European citizens is a necessary and a challenging consequence of this and only those who will keep practicising lifelong learning will be able to built up strong and lasting positions within the labour market.

It is not Eastern Europe you should worry about. The problem is in your own back yard-the politicians. I suggest you standing outside greedy politicans' homes and tell them to stop profiting off poor Eastern Europeans cheap labor and leaving Americans in the dust. It always comes down to the all mighty dollar and greed within our own government. It is the all mighty dollar and the greed that comes with it that will be the down fall for all of us.

Excellent answer, hbarrass!
Just some folks don't have that kind of foresight & wisdom.
Sadly, others are struggling to get up the welfare list. Because they believe it's their right. After neglecting their education, going off to have babies as a means to get further support from the state. And, I'm talking about indigenous Brits. The sooner our own spongers are given a short sharp lesson in the work ethic, the better! Whingers!

tell me about it, the north of ireland is getting sliced to bits the agencies only want foreigners. landlords and business's are laughing all the way to the bank. house prices are through the roof, local economy is suffering. i would'nt mind legals or illegals working in ireland but they dont get the same wage as me they work for pathetic money. its the business's fault for being parasitical on other peoples misfortune. if they are in ireland legally they should get the same money for the same work. but these bastard agencies hire squads from overseas and pay them a pittance. landlords(foreign) rent flats 10 people to a 3 bedroom rathole. this is all thanks to the ceasefire before that nobody would have dreamt of coming to ireland any wonder the suicide rate is on the increase.

When we have enough immigrants, the native poulation will all be able to retire early on full pensions . We can then move to unspoiled ,less developed countries ,where the local population will all learn English, and greet us with open arms.

to be fair enough its not their fault they are looking for a job to earn their living same as anyone of us we shouldnt be biased and discriminative..but....
1-the immigration or labour circuits should put conditions to protect local national workers
2- u should report them if they are illegal
3- it doesnt matter their nationality or religion the important thing is the organisation of the process so no one feels bitter...
