I left mine in for a few years too but eventually the dentist told me I had to get it out because it was crowding the other teeth.

Can't really say. I was told at 16 that I should have had mine removed. It's ten years later and nothing has happened yet. But the reason for why it was suggested was that my dentist did not believe that I would have enough space for my wisdom teeth to grow in fully. It can compact your molars and eventually lead to severe tooth decay if it's bad enough. Let me suggest a quick source for your answer below. It should help, but it's best to contact your dentist for an opinion.

I had three wisdom teeth pulled when I was 25, almost 26. It was a little irritating for three or four days, but when the stitches were removed a week later, I felt it was much easier to chew, and didn't miss the teeth at all. Go ahead and have the oral surgery.

I had mine removed today it's was no fun the area is trobbing now and bleeding but it had to be done. My wisdom tooth was so decayed there was nothing left but a little of the root. It was so for back and impacted there was no way I could keep that tooth clean. Let your dentist decide no ned to go through pain if you don't have too.

It did hurt me, but I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled out at once.
I had to stay home for a week, crying.

I have known others who had their wisdom teeth pulled out and the next day, they return to work with no problem.

If you are having food stuck there many times, then you need to go to the dentist at least every 6 months for cleaning to prevent cavity.

It is never too late to pull out a wisdom tooth. If the dentist thinks it needs to be pulled, get it pulled. I find out on Friday if my dentist is going to try to fix the filling in my wisdom tooth. If he suggests a root canal, I plan on telling him to pull it.

It is never to late to pull a tooth, but if it is not causing pain and just needs to be capped, that is better than having the whole set of teeth shift.

yeah I never got my wisdom teeth pulled and have been regretting it .what happened to me is that when i got all my wisdom teeth in there was not enough room in my mouth and the teeth in front of them were pushed forward resulting in the other molars being crushed over time and had to get all my molars removed to avoid getting a serious life threatening infection. but the person you should ask is you dentist.

Get it pulled, you're never too old. You can have nerve damage from the extraction, but it will heal, and you won't always have nerve damage. Your best bet is to go to an oral surgeon and get totally knocked out and have the tooth extracted.

you don't have to get them pulled out but i get mine out this Friday mine give me a lot of problems . I do know getting them pulled can help in the long run it help you from not getting sick as often and getting them pulled will give your other teeth more room so your other teeth are not being pushed to gather and cause you more problems in the further
