This one time I was reading Sea Side Ryan on my cross-country trek, in the back of a fudgepacker mobile, oddly enough, Brett Favre was the driver.

I've never heard that reading books in a car is bad for your eyes. I always get motion-sickness if I read books in a car. Wagon doubt it, airplane doubt it, small boat doubt it, big ship it is not only bad for the eyes it's also bad for your health, especially if it tips over or sinks

reading books in cars is bad because of the constant jerks. as a result the distance and orientation of the book from the eye changes often. This causes the eyes to rapidly change its focus, much like a camera. This cause eye strain or eye fatigue, which is bad. Plus the lighting conditions are bad.

Airplanes or big ships do not jerk so much so its considerably less harmful. I hope it explains all.

It's bad for your eyes because the car is moving and you are staring at a close object. You may also get motion sickness although you haven't gotten it. I had the same problems. I got my first motion sickness accident when I was 9 years old.

It's not bad for your eyes, but with all the bouncing around that goes on while traveling, your sense of sight gets thrown off, as your eyes are bouncing along with you, while trying to read the page. Eventually you can get motion sickness from trying to read and having your equilibrium thrown out of whack. I've read on a plane, and it's much different than a car (not counting turbulence!). If the mode of transportation is stable, with little or no movement, you will be fine.

with no light yeah but otherwise it's not bad for your eyes. Its bad for you if you're driving and reading a book but i don't think there are a lot of people dumb enough to do that. How can you get carsick from reading in the car. I don't get headaches or carsick when reading(when the cars not moving or moving).

Yes. Since there is a lot of movement your eyes can't really focus on the print itself, therefore you have to put double the effort in trying to decipher the words. It's like writing while the car is in motion.

yes because reading takes away your focus on your primary responsibility, which is driving a vehicle. When you end up crashing into a tree, it's possible that your eyes may become dislodged from your head.
