I've been in two bad accidents. Each time, I was freaked out for MONTHS afterwards. It's like post traumatic stress syndrome. I kep thinking I see a car on the side of my eyes. I know other people that have felt the same way after accidents. Just accept that the accident you had was bad and freaked you out and don't beat yourself up for having normal scared feelings.

There are some really terrible drivers on the road now-a-days. Although the accident was your fault, the person had no business driving close enough to you to hit you in the back. A few weeks ago, I got a product that has truly been a blessing to me. It is The Auto Messenger. The device is an electronic display that you put in your rearview window and operate with a remote control. You can display up to 11 programmable messages to other drivers. I have programmed all kinds of messages from "THANK YOU", "SORRY", "GET OFF MY BUMPER", "PLEASE DIM YOUR LIGHTS", to "HAVE A NICE DAY". I love this thing and I think if everyone on the road had one, the road would be a much "calmer" and "safer" place. Check out their website at www.TheAutoMessenger.com. Good Luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.

You could see a counselor about your problem, they may have some good ideas.
Exposure therapy is putting yourself in the situation that frightens you. By driving around you're already doing that. The longer you go without giving in you'll eventually break your irrational fear. Driving is supposed to be fun.
Dont let it get the best of you! Good luck.

You need a lawyer before you do anything else.
Someone who hits you is at fault and I don't care about "no fault" baloney.
That's why they put brakes on cars.
Now you are shell shocked, and somebody is responsible for that.
Ruined your life...so, get in touch with a lawyer.

I FEEL FOR YOU. WHEN I HAD MY FIRST ACCIDENT,NOT MY FAULT, I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND HAD A TOUGH TIME GETTING BACK INTO THE CAR AND DRIVE. A FRIEND FORCED ME TO DRIVE. THAT WAS THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE. I WAS TOTALLY SHAKEN UP. OUT OF NECESSITY, I HAD TO DRIVE. I DID IT, BUT, IT MADE ME MORE CAUTIOUS AND DRIVE MORE DEFENSIVELY. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FEARS.

Oh, shut-up!
Get over it already. (you need to visit a veterans hospital so you can be shocked back to reality).
