Who says he doesn't? Maybe it's that people don't know how to listen anymore.

As you read the scriptures you see that God generaly speaks to his people thru his prophet! There is only one of those every few generations.
There was a time after the death of Jesus that there were no prophets on the earth - it was called the dark ages. Then the Renesaunce was sparked with new interest in religion. Thru all this time God was quiet because his true religion had been changed by men and was not on the earth in it's true form. The Reformation of his Gospel and the truths that had been lost, right down to the prohpets, temples and communication with God by it's leaders occured in Palmyra New York in the 1830's. It all started with a 14 year old boy asking in prayer which church he should join. He was the first to see God and his son Jesus Christ in over a 1000 years! His name was Joseph Smith.

He did. God talked to Joseph Smith...
we have hundreds of years worth of testimony from many Prophets in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon... yet people still do not believe... do you really think that God talking to an Atheist would make a difference? I think the Atheist would believe that he was hallucinating, or dreamed it all up... one thing or another to convince himself/herself that it did not really happen...
edit: for example:
Let's imagine that someone kneels down and prays... anyone...Christian or not...
that person is praying and they hear a voice answer their questions... they turn around and nobody is there... nobody in the whole house... no radio on.. no TV on.. nothing...
now, as time goes by... do you think the person will think to them self things like: Why would God talk to ME?... what makes me worthy of it?... Maybe it didn't really happen... I was just dreaming... a waking dream perhaps.. there MUST be another explanation...
after a while the person is convinced that it never happened.

Not everyone talked to God. A VERY select few and that's because He knew their heart and they were faithful to the point of death. As far as talking to us now, if you love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind, then you do here Him. He comes to us in our thoughts, through reading the Bible. But I'm sure you weren't looking for a serious answer.

God does talk to people, he spoke to a 14 yr old boy in a grove and continues to talk to prophets today. The modern Prophet is Gordon B. Hinckley.

Thanks for your query - God has said whatever he had to say and he completed his blessings to Mankind by sending his final Prophet i.e. the Man we know as Muhammad with the Final revelations known as Qur'an.
Qur'an is the final guidance for the Mankind and it has left no stone unturned. Whatever you need to lead a pure life, it is in the Qur'an so God has done his job now it is upto you to harken the to the Message....

God does talk to us. He talks to us through our minds, (our inner voices) and through others. God sends others to deliver messages to protect us and save us from destruction.
There is still time for you! God loves you, don't worry about your behavior or attitude. He knows that you aren't aware yet and haven't seen the light that shines for you.
I will pray for you to understand and see that light, just wait until you see what you have been missing! You won't hate anyone anymore....

Everything God wanted to teach us is found in Jesus Christ. However, God still talks to people in private revelation. He has sent Mary many times to appear to people and give them messages. Louredes and Fatima are famous ones. Jesus has appeared to many saints over the centuries.

Actually, in most of the Bible, G-d spoke to only one or two people in a generation -- and in most generations, it was to someone who had his underlings waving around bits of dead bull and sprinkling blood on a leather seat cover.
We don't know why G-d doesn't speak directly to us.

God only talks to individuals that are Christian Apostolics. That's what they told me anyway. They even speak for God, but it's in tongues that we cannot understand (the Angelic language).
