I cannot believe how cruel some people can be. I have a bi-racial son and daughter. They too are black and white. As many mixed couples as you see in the world today you would think more people would accept the fact that I and anyone else for that matter will live their life and be with who ever they want to be with no matter their color or whatever. But anyways we named our son after my husband Reginald and my daughter will be named Khyren when she is born. I do like the name Tremaine but how about Darius or Devon. They aren't ghetto but they aren't white either. I agree with whoever said something about combining you and his fathers name or taking a name from a family member. Whatever you name him will be special b/c he is special. Good luck with your pregnancy and finding the right name.

I am often surprised that people don't ever consider the family and the importance of the child having a connection to his or her family with a name that represents. Why don't you consider the father (and his family) and you (and your family) for a name or combination. Your child should be proud of the name he has been given - and the name should mean something. In the days of old - the name of the person meant a lot to the community/village, family and to the child for it represented what he would or could become, it represented where he came from - and the name gave him hope for the future. I have a family name that has been 'passed down'. It was given to me as a middle name and I gave it to my daughter as her first name. We did a history search and we discovered how much our name really meant. It was a mixture of both Native American and African - and meant 'the brightest star in the heavens'. I take much pride in knowing that our names have such a history and that both of us actually try to live up to our names. Names are significant and even in the Bibical days - the name meant much. Having a child of mixed heritage can have its own set of challenges. You don't want your child walking around with a name that was created out anything other than sincere purpose. The name means a lot. It sets the stage for the child's character, his purpose, direction and station in life. It's something he will have to live with the rest of his life. Make him proud of his name -

Goodness!People can be cruel. My baby is white and I wanted a unique name, just because he's unique.I don't like either of the names you mentioned, and I don't really like any of the other names.I read some advice on how to choose a name you will never regret:Go stand outside your door and scream the name a few time, like you will be doing when they're older and out playing and you need to call them home.If you can do that with the name you like and not feel stupid, then it's a good choice.I didn't actually do that, but I imagined myself screaming the name Darius or Malachi, and I knew they wouldn't work.I chose one I got from a t.v. personality that's different, but is similar to a common name,so it's not too far out there. You can experiment with changing a letter or two of something old,and make it new.Just ignore the half-breed comments.Very few of us have pure blood one way or another.

Ok, first.....the term you're looking for is bi-racial (as opposed to mixed baby or mixed bag of nuts). Second, the names you are thinking of (DreVon and Tremain) are horrible. You can't be serious ?? Tremain sounds like the name of a future convicted felon. And DreVon is cool........if you're a Transformer in the middle of a galactic war against Galvatron. Forget the weird "black names" and just give the kid a reasonable name like P Diddy or Cisco.

I like Tremaine please don't go ghetto with your baby's name. I'm for real. There are some unique names that are cute but not ghetto. Doesn't matter if the baby is mixed or not. I let someone else name my first son Jacovia and the other is Kiyadh. My brother was fighting in Iraq stationed in Riyadh when my son was born so I changed one letter in honor of him (my brother) don't get me wrong I like unique names, but I am afraid now that my kids will be shunned in the real world because of that. So make your choice wisely. And please don't use a lot of names, like you will never have anymore kids, I guess unless you won't lol.
