"sin" exists only in the mind of those who believe in it. The guilt you are experiencing is one of the consequences of Christian faith. People will say "oh I'm washed in the blood of Christ and so I don't have to have guilt anymore", but it's a lie. On the one hand you get that message, but on the other hand you get the message about saving faith leading to works, which causes the very guilt many will claim they don't have.
I on the other hand probably do the same types of sins you do (assuming you aren't raping/killing/etc.), and really don't ever feel guilty about it unless I harm someone who didn't deserve to be harmed, because my ethics are not tied to some arbitrary bronze age book.
Maybe it's time for you to question why you have your religious beliefs at all. Are you sure they're right? If so, why? If not, you owe it to yourself to search for answers beyond just Christian sources.

Dear Steve J: As I got further into your question, I saw that you are pretty saavy about truth, as I understand it. I am from non-denominational teachings and would like to address your question on several levels:
1.In the discipline I am based in, there is no such thing as "sin." Change the word to "error." Sin means guilty. Sin needs forgiveness. But, "error" is simply wrong thinking. It can easily be corrected.
2. Traditional denominational religions use the word "sin." Therefore, you feel guilty and constantly in need of forgiveness. This is not the state of being your Holy Father/Creator would have you be in.
3. Denominational religions (Western) believe you have one life to lead and then you are gone. That is not correct. What does everyone think Eternal means? If you are Created like the Father and He is Spirit-Mind and eternal, then so must you be!
You even have Free Will to decide after the illusion of "death" whether or not to remain on the "other side" (the heavens) without your body (image) or to return for another life time in the Physical sphere. "Your birth is not a beginning. It's a continuing."
4. Heaven is not a location, nor a destination: As Spirit, the Creator is an essence. He fills all space and dimension. His Children are encompassed by Him or enfolded within His Being.
5. Your soul - Spirit-Mind - has already told the Holy Spirit, long ago, the point of Time in which you would be willing to return to the Father - be at Home, again. This agreement is not known in your human conscious level. This means before that event, you will find yourself entering into a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to begin your Journey. When you are purified and cleansed in your mind and thinking processes, you will be ready to return. Your Creator awaits you. You may hasten Time by entering into a relationship with Them at any point you so desire.
6. Your dreams and imagination exist. So do your adventures. But, your Return Home and what Home is and how It operates was created by God. YOU are His Kingdom. Amen.

I am sad for you. You really should check with other churches in your area that won't give you mixed messages. I am a christian and I know that everyone sins and there is nobody out there that doesn't sin. We were born sinners and will be until Jesus comes. I feel that by going to church it doesn't automatically get you to heaven, it should only help you make wiser choices and help keep you on the right path. The lord knows you are a sinner as everyones of us are, just do the best you can and trust that Jesus Christ is your lord and savior and that is what gets you to heaven. Best of luck to you!

Ok , you are kinda confusing me. First you ask, is there no such thing as sin? Than you go on to say that Chrisianity has overwhelmed you to the point of suicide because you sin everyday.
1) Sin exists.
2) I am Catholic, not Christian, Im not sure the exact differences in the religion, but it is normal to be a sinner is it not? The human race was made to not be perfect. God did not tell us that our sins would not be forgiven. God does not mean for sin to depress you. We all sin every day. By thinking things we're not supposed to, or say things we're not supposed to or do things we're not supposed to.
3) It is up to you to try to become a better person. And whether you are religious or not, I think most pepole feel better about themselves when they do the right thing. Maybe you know you are doing something you're not supposed to and you are guilt ridden, but not because Chrisitanity is making you guilty, it is because you HAVE A CONSCIENCE. And it is telling you, you are doing wrong.
4) It is not right to sin, or purposely sin, but if you realize that you are doing wrong. You ask the Lord for forgiveness and try to be a better person. It does not mean you won't sin again, just try to minimize your mistakes in life.
5) If you are Christian, believe that it's alright to sin as human beings, but that we must learn from our mistakes and be better.
It does not mean we will go to hell. But everyday, we people have choices, there are good and bad , right and wrong. You have the conscience to realize and the instincts to tell you which one to go with.
6) Don't blame religion. Just try to be a good person, not for God but for yourself. No one makes you sin , except yourself. I hope that you start making better choices and see that you'll no longer feel the guilt. You will no longer feel the need to blame religion for your guilt , the guilt is in your mind, not in God's hands.

Dude, if you are a reasonable person with a conscience you need not always listen to the group of people involved in "churchology". This is the study of church... ie. how should I walk? how should I talk? and on and on. The church will tell you what to do. MY ADVICE IS: follow your heart, if the Holy Spirit is truly inside you, your heart will tell you if you are doing something wrong. Before there were churches, before there was an institution, how did people know what to do? By reading the Bible for themselves, and by following their heart. That is why there were Christian martyrs at one time, because they followed their heart, not an institution. Good luck in your quest.

There is sin and we are guilty. The reason we are preoccupied with it is because the Holy Spirit has convicted us in order to drive us away from sin. Yes, we all sin, but as long as we believe that Jesus is the Christ & have openly confessed that He is Lord, our sin is put behind us. We are washed clean by His atoning blood. In our sin we break away from God & since we are His we notice. Those who sin without any guilt do so because they are already away from God & don't notice that they are moving away from His presence.
Relax. God doesn't want us all to be perfect. Neither does He want us to just start living like the world does. That is why the Holy Spirit is our conscience. He is our guide to protect us from our own decisions. Be grateful for your guilt because your soul is alive. If it were dead, you wouldn't notice it.
Just keep praying and asking for help. The answer will come, if you focus on Jesus & not your own imperfection.

That's a generalization first of all. Sin is an interpretation of human kinds free will and how it is used for purpose. Im not atheist but not all atheist think like that u know. Would we have a sense of right or wrong without now that's a question.

Everyone sins...
Christianity isn't about works it's about grace and forgiveness so that we don't have to feel depressed for doing wrong all the time... you have it backwards... if you are feeling depressed all the time either you have a disorder called major depression or you don't really understand what Christianity is all about.
At any rate, enjoy your own personal heaven... I hope it works for you... But be sure you are right though... because if you are wrong and Christians are right then you are screwed...

Stop listening to all that garbage, be god to yourself and to to people around you be good be nice. Live in the here and now. People that try to make you feel bad because of "sins" just want to control you. Break with people like that. Break with religion it is spoiling your life. Live in the here and now with the thing you can see and feel and not with magical spooky things. I wish I could give you a hug.
