Talk with him about it. Maybe if you tell him, he will prefer to be with you.

I say try going on a casual lunch outing or early dinner at a place that is very relaxed(Grill & Bar). However, share a few appetizers together instead of separate meals. You will be able to converse about the food while enjoying conversation.Avoid a place that has multiple TV's so the attention stays on you.

this guy can't be verry old in that aspect i mean he still hangs on to his child hood crushes most young men always strive to what they can't have by the way u describe ur relationship i would say he loves u but just doesn't know it don't be to forward with him but through him subtle hints if he is aware enough he'll get the hint guys, in the long run and for long term relationships like women with the same interests as they have sounds like u've got that just through a hint or two every once in a while he may get it

Take the initiative and ask him out. Not on a date at first though. Ask if he wants to go out to eat or to the movies, but as friends. Usually even though you're going as friends things tend to escelate. If you already tried this then just ask him out. I think more women need to ask the guys out. Let them know how it feels with all that pressure.

Next time you're hanging out just being pals, tell him you want to watch a movie, and then watch something that has a really sexy scene about an hour or so into it.
The last woman who did that to me is getting ready to take two of our kids to music lessons, so it clearly works. :-)

You are screwed you fell into the friend zone. He is not going to want to go out with because you are a really good friend to him so he is not going to think of when it comes to gf. Try to go to more romantic types of places and dont talk about other women with him that is a bad idea.

sorry but from my personal experience, with a lot of other crushes that were friends...if he is talking about another girl, chances are unless you are that other girl you are not even a blip on his radar. Give it time be a friend and who knows what can happen though. I mean i waited around and eventually he was over her and dating me so it works!

Stop playing basketball with him and start other dating activities.
Maybe he'll look at you in a new light?

Enjoy the time you have together, and maybe with time something will develop, and if it doesn't you have had a lot of fun.

Ask him if he likes you because he might just think of you as a really good friend

He needs to see it on his own. Sometimes people are attracted to what they can't have. If the other girl does not pay attention to him, eventually, he will get tired.
He has to learn that on his own, though.
