Copy and paste the following lines into a Notepad file.
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Save the file to your Desktop as Show Desktop.scf. Next left click on the file you just created and drag it down to the Quick Launch bar and release.

You mean the SHOW DESKTOP icon?
If so, you can do a google search and find it, or just press the WINDOWS key and the letter "D" at the same time, to achieve the same effect.

Try going into Systems Restore and backdating it to before you lost the icon.

basically pass to laptop window then top click opt for the 'laptop tab' then pass to 'personalize laptop' a the backside the examine the shortcut icon do you prefer to look on you laptop.

Check the recycling bin. If you deleted it, it would be there.
