A real serious problem...?
I'm very emotional, and I get you know the s word from time to time...
my dad has diabetes, and is cranky all the time, and both my parents are old and getting weaker because their tired from workiing all those years. I'm young but also sick (both physically and mentally) My bro is getting somewhere finally after a long time living in the house but I'm sick of my situation. Anyone know how I can better my life? I'm especially mad at my dad right now. Yesterday I wanted to talk to him but he told me to go away because he was in pain and couldn't talk to me! He should've apologized to me, I felt really bad that I couldn't talk to him?

That wasn't a question at the end of the last sentence so I probably should've just put a period.

Actually nevermind, I might just delete this question.

Sounds like you're depressed too. The situation you are describing can make you feel pretty powerless and overwhelmed. Try the web site www.211.org It'll put you in touch with some community support groups and you could possibly volunteer. It may open some doors for you, get you in touch with people that understand your situation and enable you to reach out to others. Don't give up. It can be difficult watching your parents health deteriorate, especially when you need them. Try a local church, you may find a great support system just around the corner from you. Good luck.

There are lots of social service organizations throughout the country. You should contact one and they will be able to help you. You could live in a group home or depending upon your needs, you could get assistance with special housing and other things. You weren't really specific with your "physical ailments" so I don't really know what to say. Are you still in school? If so a social worker should be able to help you. Do you have a SOS center?

I'd be pretty dam depressed too if I were clearly (NOT totally) disabled and seeing my family dissolve into degrees of either physical or mental dysfunctions...or both.

Seems to me you want to "mother" something; take loving care of something that warmly touches your heart.....like....pets....specifically.....a cat?

Maybe you ought to focus on temporarily taking care of others pets while they are out of town on business or vacations? This way, it's something you can and enjoy doing....and you get paid for it.

And when the day's done....you DO feel a very nice sense of responsible purpose in your life; something that can and will have you feeling better about yourself.

I think you are crying out for help.

You, I am assuming is still a child and you expect to be looked after still.

I dont know what to say.

If you are now caring for your parents, simply have friends up in your room, so you can be there for your parents and there for your friends maybe?

Dont put your life on hold, do you have any siblings who can help you out?

The best thing you can do is do well in school and try to get involved in a lot of extracurricular activities so you don't have to be home a lot. Try to do well so you can get into college and have a good life.

Perhaps you should seek help? It sounds to me like you are very depressed due to your home environment, or it could be genetic.
