Yes you are. The Bible never teaches that we each go to heaven or to "hell" when we die. We don't each of us have little immortal spirits that float around afterdeath. This is a pagan belief that has found its way into the christian doctrine..but in truth...we are all flesh and blood only alive by the Spirit of Life as given through Adam the first man of creation. When you die you are dead and won't see life again until the resurrection and judgement day. Jesus achieved this through His life, death and resurrection conquering death for us so that He could go and prepare a place so that we could be gathered to Him on the last day. The Catholic Church has come up with some strange meldings of scripture based principles laced with pagan beliefs. Yet think about it...if were to die and have our souls go to heaven or hell..then at the resurrection or day of judgement God would have to take our "souls" or spirits and put them back in our bodies just long enough to designate where each of us are going. This is not how it works. When you die..you are dead. When you are resurrected you will become a new creatation destined either for eternal life or to be destroyed (not to suffer in a flaming pit of fire and brimstone for eternity cuz that would require you to be immortal too and eternal life is eternal life..right?) No..those that are lost and not found in the Book of Life will parish. Its all in the Bible...NO man has ever gone to heaven. Even David was leaning on the promise of the resurrection knowing he would be dead and buried but because "the Holy One would not see corruption" he had faith enough to trust that God..who knows where even the tinest sparrow falls would be able to find, locate and resurrect King David. Its all through scripture...I'll gladly send you my stutdy on it if you would like to read more. Just email me..Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Yes and no. No man had ascended into heaven before Jesus. Jesus was resurrected as a spirit and shortly thereafter went to heaven. Only then could others ascend into heaven, after Jesus did.

Yes you are. Before Jesus, no man ascended to heaven. The belief of man going to heaven or a afterlife was not taught before the Greeks came to power in Jerusalem. Moses, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Noah and many others did not go to heaven, they stayed put here on earth. "As dust you are, dust you shall return.
Also read , Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 is tells what the state of dead people are.

Make sure your reading the whole passage and not just one verse. Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, a rabbi, but who didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus. He told Nicodemus that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again. So Nicodemus was confused and did not believe what Jesus was saying. So Jesus says, "Aren't you, as a rabbi, supposed to know these things? (translated)"
And that verse you're talking about refers to Jesus saying how we say and give testimonies about things of Jesus which we see and hear, but most of the time, we end up not believing ourselves. Which is why most of us have doubts. But He continues, saying, we give these testimonies, but no man has been to heaven, so we testify based off what we're taught and how the Lord ministers to us.
That word "even" there can be taken out and the verse still means the same.
What that verse is really saying is this,
"Jesus said, 'And no man has ascended up to heaven, except He that came down from heaven, the Son of man, which is in heaven.'"
So basically, no one has been to heaven except Jesus, be we testify anyway regarding what we believe. (nothing wrong with that)
Hope that helps, God Bless!!

Your spirit is what goes to heaven - you do not go as a man in the body you have now. Your body stays behind here and you no longer need it. Jesus arose from the dead and ascended to heaven as a man and he is the only man to do so.

John 3:13 (The Message)
13-15"No one has ever gone up into the presence of God except the One who came down from that Presence, the Son of Man. In the same way that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert so people could have something to see and then believe, it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up—and everyone who looks up to him, trusting and expectant, will gain a real life, eternal life.

Yes, no one has gone up into Heaven except Jesus, who first came down *from* Heaven. :) In Revelation it states that no goes into heaven until after the second coming of Christ, after the ressurection of all the believers, and after the Judgement Day.
Cuz why would it be decided where you go before you are judged?
In Paul's letters, he often refers to people that died as having "fallen asleep"... so perhaps after you die, it really is like sleeping, until God's Judgement Day!

YES, you are reading correctly!
The Bible, also, says this:
Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
This passage is speaking of King David of the Old Testament. I would recommend reading the whole context, of course.
Much more can be said on this issue!!!

The word 'ascend' means to 'float upward'. This scripture simply means that Christ is the only human to have risen from the grave into heaven in a form in which others could see him rise.

Bible talkes about Three Heavens. Jesus refering the heaven he descended from (i.e Zion). Lot of them went to Third Heavan after the resurrection of christ
II Corinthians 12: 1 - 4 -- It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up [away] to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up [away] into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter
