I don't think very many people refuse to accept that there may indeed be global warming.
The real head butting contest starts when you try to determine the source of global warming.

This current heat wave has probably nothing to do with global warming. When it gets really cold do you hear about global warming or cooling? Why is that? Because it doesn't fit the model? There is natural gobal climate change.
The evidence for global warming is strong. What is not so strong is that it is caused by CO2. Many mix the two things which confuses the issue. The CO2 theory is largely circumstantial. There could be more important issues that we are missing. One example is the idea that we are putting large quantities of jet exhaust into the upper atmosphere. What affect does that have on solar trapping? What other things are we missing because we focus on only CO2?
Remember about how R-12 was going to destroy the ozone? Did anyone tell you that they later found out that SF6 is 1000 times more potent at destroying ozone than R-12? I used to have my office about 100' from a huger tanker of SF6 and there were no environmental controls on it at all. Why? Because we focused on only 1 possible culprit for the ozone depletion. Are we going to do the same thing now with CO2?
I hope this explains it to you. Most people are not listening because they have already made up their minds.

Anti-Global Warming theory
First of all, Global Warming is only a THEORY, nobody has enough proof it is happening as there are many places on Earth that are warming up and many places on Earth that cooling off.
Now, about the Ozone layer: its been healing. The Sahara Desert has been shrinking (did you know that?), the 6000-year peroid of melting in Antartic, except for one glacier in it, has finished 20 years ago and now its been cooling off, gaining hundreds of tons of mass every year.
CO2 is, sorry for breaking all your dreams of blaming CO2 for all the things that has been happening for the planet, the one of the LEAST HARMFUL GAS amongst the Green-house gases. It has got bigger concentration in the atmosphere only zero point something percent every 10 years and there is no evidence that CO2, beeing one of the less harmful gases regarding GW, is the resposnible for all this temperature going higher.
There are some other theories that say that the bigger the city, the bigger the temp in its local climate. Like, you measure the temp in the same day of the city centre and of the countryside surrounding it and you will see that it differes by many degrees in some cases.
GW is just another wide-spread trend that everybody wants to talk about. The reality is completely different. In some 20 years from now, people will see what a mistake it was this GW thing. It is not like that. People confound themseves.
AND, even if the globe was warming, it would be benefic for most creatures on the planet.
Look, how do you do for getting plants growing bigger and better than thei own habitat?
You put them in a green house, in which the TEMPERATURE and moisture levels are higher.
Many bad bacterias will die in higer temp.
Many animals will die becaus eof the climate changing. But what many people forget is that many NEW species are going to develop too, replacing the extinct ones. And, if you are thinking "But we cannot allow existing species die just because new ones will flourish and take their place. It is not right!". Sorry to day, damsel, but weather climate HAS NEVER STOPPED CHANGING. It will change with our help or not. The species here will sooner or later die, including us.
And never forget, WE CANNOT DESTROY THE PLANET. WE DONT EVEN HAVE THE FAINTEST SENSE OF REALITY IF WE THINK WE CAN. WHAT CAN HAPPEN IS WE DESTROYING OUSELVES, BUT LOOK, AFTER SOME THOUSANDS OF YEARS, THE BACTERIAS, SMALL ANIMALS THAT HAVE SURVIVED, WILL FLOURISH AGAIN AND THE PLANET WILL HAVE ANOTHER, MAYBE MORE RESPECTFUL, CIVILIZATION. JUST SO THAT IF THEY ARE INTELLIGENT ENOUGH, THEY CAN DESTROY THEMSELVES AGAIN.
For ending this, Id like to call you all interessed in GW to read the book of Michael Crichton, State of fear, where you can see the much more info than this I gave you with thousands of respectable references.
And enjoy a very thrilling story as well.

There is no evidence against it. Because the people who don't acknowledge global warming don't care about it. So why would they go through all the trouble of finding evidence of something they don't care exsists or not? Basically, everyone KNOWS it exsists. Everyone knows the temperature is getting hotter. But only some people make a big deal out of it. Why should we care? I don't care. It's our great great great great great grandchildrens burden to deal with, not ours. We already have enough burden in this world. I hate when people ***** about it, but don't actually do anything about it. They drive cars, use electricity, use too much water etc. Total hypocrites. People who think they are making any sort of change need to get off their high horse and realize they are not making a danm difference untill they stop driving, grow their own food, make their own clothes, and stop shoppign at Ikea and Starbucks.

Ok, for the last 2.8 million years or so, the Earth has been colder than during most of its earlier history. During this most recent 2.8 million years, we have been cycling between ice ages lasting 100,000-125,000 years and warm "interglacials" lasting only 25,000-30,000 years. The last ice age ended ~10,000 years ago, but we are still warming up from that ice age. Even without humans, the Earth should get hotter in the next 5-10,000 years before a cooling trend will again become evident. The most recent interglacial warm spell before the present one was called the "Emian" period, and it was much warmer than we are now, with both ice caps totally melted.(Do a google search on it). So the difficulty is in determining if humans have influenced this climate cycling or not. But mark my words: IT IS GOING TO GET HOTTER REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE HUMANS DO.

I believe it's a real problem, and am doing what I can to slow it down.I also do not believe that CO2 is the ONLY cause of it,but I believe that it is probably the largest contributor, and also the only one we little people can work on.Reducing emissions can only help, right? That's one of the easiest ways to save money, too,so even the most selfish people can benefit from it.I'm glad I see these questions popping up.I just hope it means more people are actively trying to improve the matter.
