I had thought the main reason people didn't believe in evolution was because they believed in God instead. I know there are many who question parts of the idea and theory, but are there those of you out there who just don't believe in evolution at all, but don't replace it with God?
If so, what is your reasoning for believing evolution is false?

God could or could not be. Evolution could or could not be. God could have created through evolution. We could be God evolving.
My belief in either or does not change what it is.
There are no true facts in either case.

I think you'd get a better answer if you asked if people believe that evolution as the explanation for our beginnings is false. Only the really hardcore, and self-deceptive people can deny that organisims evolve (as in adaptation).
But the big debate is more on if you believe that evolution explains the presence of life on earth, or if life was created by an intellegent being.
Christians don't believe that evolution is the answer to the question of our beginnings, and are extremely vocal about that.. so that could be why it seems that any people who don't "believe" in evolution are Christians.

To the uneducated fools who answered that evolution is not proven because it's theory,
go pick up a science textbook and learn what a theory is TECHNICALLY, then hang your head in shame for being an idiot.
You'll find that GRAVITY is also a theory, but I promise you that if you jump off of a tall building, you will go *splat*.
Though, I do invite you to test this, since it's just a "theory"

until there is actual proof, its still just a theory. and so far, there are only really two theories: evolution and creationism, however it doesnt mean there wont be any other. so when there is solid proof, i will believe in that theory, until then i am more inclined to believe the evolution theory based on plausibility and has more scientific explanations.

Why is it so hard to think that "god" (or any light giving, energy moving prescence) has worked with evolution.
I think right now we are DE EVOLVING but we did evolve enough for a while......now the new evolution is not of look but of mind, and of thought, if you are an old world thinker, as the sun gets closer to mother earth and her polarity shifts, and she now circles faster, those of you who do not know how to deal with the higher vibrations will suffer from dimentia and other ailments......but you wont die.......yet.....

The only athiests that don't agree with evolution (inter-phylum evolution, that is) are likeyl to be actual scientists.
Most others just won't be interested enough to learn more about it. They'll accept what they're told because "everybody knows its true, right? so it must be true."
Remember, evolution (from one phylum to another) is a theory.
Adaptation and survival of the fittest, however, is a different story altogether, and undoubtedly true.
