My grandma is about 80 and we live in the same city. I really love her and her birthday is coming and I want to give her something very special.

visit her. cook her lunch. take her to dinner. basically spend time with her. go thru old photo albums with her and learn who everyone is and family history. those things are important to old people. listen to her stories.

Tell her you want to spend the day with her, & ask her what would she like to do. Time is the BEST gift you can give ANYONE, especially someone who can't get out & about much or does't get much company. Even if you just hang around & talk with her all day- she'll remember it for a long time.

you can make her a craft item of somekind, picture album with pictures of the two of you or a scrapebook. You could also make her a coupon book one could be for a day of telling old stories, a day of helping clean out the garage, a meal for two prepared by you and anything else she would enjoy having you do just be creative

I have 13 grandchildren and I think you should make her something instead of buying some thing and I love the tight hugs.

make her a picture frame with a picture of you and her inside. Maybe write her a letter too, telling her how much you appreciate her. Also, spend the day with her, she'd love that.
