Might interest you to know that statistically speaking, taller people get better jobs, they get paid more, and tend to have more lasting relationships.

AT 13, being one of the taller kids in the class - and usually bigger than the boys - is embarrassing and awkward - and you probably are tripping over your own feet half the time.
Girls in your age period grow faster than boys. But a little later, the boys begin to shoot up, too. Believe me, 5'6" is not really tall at all. I am 6'4" - and my younger son, who is a year older than you, is now taller than I am. (I think this guy will have to bend over to go through all doors by the time he's 18 or 19.)
Right now you are distressed. It's OK for you to have your feelings, but you should know that it will pass and you will be fine. Don't let the other kids tease you - just ignore some of their silly and stupid remarks and stand up straight, hold your head up, smile and be proud of yourself!

lots of coffee....I'm just kidding!!! You should be proud you are tall! You may feel out of place right now because it is quite possible you hit your growth spurt early. You may only grow another inch or two, which would leave you only at 5'7 or 5'8, by no means a giant. I know at around your age my growing drastically slowed down because I felt taller than all my friends in jr high, but then they caught up.
But if you happen to be like 5'11, big deal. My cousin is 5'11 and is gorgeous! she is known as the "model". YOu need to change your attitude toward being tall, if you hate it, you will be self-counscous about it. Learn to love it and you will learn to stand tall and proud:)

Enjoy it, and don't sweat the small stuff. If that is the only thing you have to worry about at 13 you are very fortunate.
Unless you were planning on a career as a jockey.

You have to accept this. I'm older than you and I'm really really short. It's so embarrassing when I'm in class and try to reach something that's on a high shelf. It's an advantage, you're lucky.
