I went to a Starbucks. Girl already puts her stuff down at a table, but then decides to get a table next by me. She ends up shifting the table and chair so its at a right angle and facing me. After sitting down she drops her highligher. I dont know if she did it on purpose but I did pick it up for her. Her phone then rings and she starts talking about a haircut. After hanging up, I knew it was my was my cue to make a move. Instead, she starts it by telling me how lucky I am that I dont need a haircut. We then start talking for an hour or so. Was she trying to get my attention and is she interested in me. Why do girls do stuff like this?

well i definitely did my share of stupid things to get my guy to notice me
and guess what, it worked, we've been togehter 2 years now
and the best part is he never even realised i'd been checking him out and trying to get his attention... he still thinks it was fate
so, my point is
#1 YES, girlies do a looot of silly things for you guys
#2 you're definitely attentive, cause u noticed
#3 just give it a try and ask her out. what can u lose?

I assume that girls do stupid things for the same reason that guys do stupid things to get attention: the fear of rejection.
If she makes it seem like an "accident" that the two of you started talking, then it is no big deal if you snub her, because she can pretend that she didn't really want to talk to you anyway (a way of saving face if you turn out to be rude or a jerk). If she is too obvious, and you reject her, then her friends might laugh at her if you obviously decide to avoid her.
Besides, she thinks that if she is too forward and too obvious, you will probably lose interest in her because the mystery is gone.

Because some girls are to shy to walk up to guys and talk to them. Some also have the belief that guys should always make the first move...but then there are those girls who are to shy, very obvious, dorks, and don't know what to do when a guy comes up to talk to them...like me...I would more then likely do what the girl in your scenario did, that's only because I've never been asked out on a date...so yeah...I would do what she did. Sorry if I'm not any help.

girls do really retarted stuff when they are attracted to someone... i mean with a guy its just hey shes hot and they go talk to her but for a girl that would seem forward. So she drops a pen and bends over or she talks on the phone to a guy or she moves closer to you because the sun was in her eyes. All indications that she's interested and waiting on you to make a move.

Yes she was trying to get your attention and she was interested in you. The only other thing she could do to let you know she was interested was to hit you up-side the head with a 2 by 4.

Of course she is interested in you. Not all girls approach guys that way. Well, maybe girls, do. Women are different. At least women that I know. We prefer the man to make the move. That's the way we were brought up, and I've noticed that most men like to be the aggressor.

Because she didn't want the moment to go without letting you know she was interested... she may never see you again. I wouldn't say it was a stupid thing.. but I would be flattered if someone showed me that kind of attention.. we don't all have the finese and suave disposition of madonna you know.
