I would say yes. Seems like life is more fast-paced and people are spending more time work/commuting. There are a huge number of fast food places which are high in fat and calories for most of the items. And portion size in restaurants is huge. Studies have been done that show people will tend to eat what is put in front of them. Heck, in the 70's, the standard size of a coke out of a machine was a 10 oz. glass bottle. Now it is a 20 oz. plastic bottle.

Yes as a group I think the younger generation is fatter. Life has been made to be TOO easy while food portions have been made TOO generous. I feel bad for the youngsters because they must struggle to keep a normal weight where we (boomers) exercised a lot more in everyday life and ate smaller portions without thinking about it.

Yes. Because the US diet is based on corn, high fat and sugar. Food is too cheap. Americans go for quantity not quality. We also have a false concept of portion size and how much should a person eat.

We kind of are. But not so much. More people are getting into the habit of exercising and being active. But I would say that 80 percent of people are inactive and 50 percent of people are active.
