Not really unless you drop the weights/bar on your chest. But you can tear a muscle or injure yourself badly if you do the excercise wrong (its quite hard to do it wrong since ur just lifting a weight up and down so you shouldn't have to worry about that)

If you drop it on yourself, but otherwise no. The most likely injury, though, is tearing your pectoral muscle(s). If you're using too heavy a weight, your ligaments/tendons will rip from the bone and you'll be in a world of hurt.
So take it easy unless you have a spotter.

Yes you can if the weigh is too heavy. Simple physics. If the force coming down (the weight) is stronger than the force pushing up (arms/chest) then somethings gonna give...

Yes; Don't drop the weight on your chest. Good technique is CONTROLED MOTION. Do not move to heavier weight until you can control the motion.

you mean your Sternum???
Doubtful, I've never heard of it happening. Your more likely to blow out a shoulder before this would happen unless the weight is plummeted onto you.

oy that sounds painful...always work out within your limit .. best way i've seen and tried is if the weight you are working on is starting to get easy then move on otherwise stay on it .. good luck! :)

depends...if you drop it on yourself and there's enough weight on there...of course you can break your chest bone.
