Does anyone else get annoyed by the misuse of the word "like"?
Like, ya know what I mean?

When it's really excessive, yes. When every third word out of someone's mouth is like and you can't even concentrate on what they are really saying because you are counting the likes, then it's excessive. It's really the new um though.

The best is when the person chews gum. Kinda LIKE a certain interview with Mrs. Federline a while back.

Oh yes! Watched an interview the other day with some celebrity and every other word was like this, like that, it was like.
I wondered if they knew they had just sealed the idiot quandry.

It annoys me when it's used so much that I notice it. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does my mom, though. If I had a dime for every time I heard her say, "It wasn't really _____, it was just like _____?" I'd probably have, like, 3 bucks by now.

it is a cultural aspect of that individual's communication process...it can be annoying to a certain degree...if you are over 19 years of age it will identify that person as quite immature...as it is a highschool slang or teen terminology

It isn't meant to be appealing to you. We all try to talk the way we are expected to by our peers. If their friends talk that way, so will they. And eventually they will learn to adjust their way of communicating based on who they are communicating with and how.
