I use a piece of freshly cut garlic. I cut it and put it NEAR the outbreak (not on it,Ouch)hold it there as long as you can take the burning. The burning indicates that your cells are absorbing the oil and garlic oil has been proven to lower cholesterol and all kinds of cool stuff. Ido this as soon as I feel the tingling or itching and most of the time have not had lesions appear.

im assuming you mean genital herpes. it can be managed with a medication called valtrex, available from your doctor. valtrex decreases the chances of herpes outbreaks - it doesnt get rid of herpes, nor does it mean you will NEVER have a herpes outbreak again, it just reduces the occurrences of outbreaks.

if you mean herpes as in oral lesions (herpes type 1, which gives you cold sores), avoid drinking from the same glasses of soda/water/etc as people, and if you do get a sore, then get some topical zovirax from your doctor and put it on the lesion 3 times a day...this will help the lesion to go away.

Do you break out in sores?? I used to work at Planned Parenthood and one girl used Campho-Phenique on sores and then used a powder, medicated and put it on top, so they can dry out, also, get Valtrex, it does work.

I am a registered nurse.

There has been some very limited success with synthetic protiens in lab animals. There has also been some promising results with earlier stem cell research. Thanks again GW!! >:(
