It goes all the way on his butt and up to his other area "down there" as well. We've tried cornstarch and vitamin A&D lotion and Desitin but nothing seems to work.

Now this will probably sound a bit strange but I would suggest that you bathe the little guys affected area in a solution of Shaklee's Basic H and water. Pat dry. Then apply Small Wonder Creamy Baby Oil and the rash will disappear. This has cured little ones of diaper rash over and over.

Back in 1960, Basic H was one of the first environmentally safe household cleaners on the market. Since it has a pH between 6 & 7 - about the same as your skin, it will not negatively affect the skin. Contains no chemicals, solvents, chlorine, ammonia or other harsh ingredients. Over the years of using this product, more and more uses become know - one of them being clearing up diaper rash.

Give him a bath in warm soap water I mean real warm them let him air dry for about 2 hours with nothing on then put diaper rash cream on him really really thin Don't put much on him or it will lock in the rash I know because I am 48 and have to wear diapers and I get it all the time my self make sure to check him to see if he is wet about ever half hour DON"T let him wear a wet diaper for over 1 hour!! If you do what I said in about 2 days it will be completly gone!! Like I said I wear diapers so I know from first hand experence!!! Good luck From the Nutcase!!!

anything cool and soothing, such as lotion, will work. desitin has an active ingredient in it meant to kill yeast, which is the cause of diaper rash. you may want to call up some local pharmacies and see if any of them carry 'baza antifungal' cream. it is a cream similar to desitin that is carried at pharmacies but they keep it behind the counter...it is usually available without a prescription and you just have to ask the pharmacist for it. call around and see who has it - it is thicker than desitin, and i think it has more of the anti-yeat medication in it. just double check to make sure it is safe for children's skin - i think it is.

Put him in a lukewarm tub of water and baking soda.It will help cool and dry up the rash.
Then use cornstarch lightly after he is dry.
I know this sounds grose to ya, but let him run around naked, the air will aid in healing it...

He may need to see his pediatrician to get a prescription strength medicine.
Nystatin is a good one!
