Well, I am redecorating my room. So do you have any ideas on how to make it a teen boys style? Certain type?

You are the teen? Is that correct?

First, check with your parents about how much you're allowed to spend and stay within that budget (unless you're spending your own money, that is.) Second, find out what the "house rules" are. Usually that includes no naked ladies on the walls.

Then, look through magazines, catalogs, etc to get ideas of the kind of look you're after. I would think you already have an idea about colors and how it should look in your head already. What do your friends have in their rooms? If they were allowed to do the decorating, the rooms are probably a hodge-podge of their favorite rock groups, anime characters, etc.

Just make sure you REALLY like the things you put on the walls or the colors you paint them. I'm sure you would never put something in there that you would be too embarrassed to show your friends---or parents.

It's your room! Your "sanctum sanctorum." Fill it with your favorite things!

Try painting your ceiling a color other than white. I painted my teens ceiling navy blue. It made the ceiling look higher than it actually is. Navy is also the color of the carpeting. walls were painted in a blue gray. All accents are in brushed silver, drawer handles, and poster frames. We chose some cool optical illusions posters. They look like their moving. Go to these web sites www.planetperplex.com and also allposters.com Hope this sparks your own creativity. Good Luck

First you should go with colors that you like. maybe go to Target, Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, ya know what I mean.....and get a desk & chair (silver & black) with coordinated trash bin, hamper, etc. Now is the time to shop for your room because all the school & college dorm accessories are on sale. You can use accents in the room for activities you like (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Movies, etc) Good Luck!!

Let him have as much influence as possible with out going over board. Give him a wall (possible done in cork board) for his pictures posters etc. also let him help with the color combo by going to the paint store and picking out the sets that all coordinate. be sure and use his interest but not to go over board in a theme since it is a teenager.

Different shades of blue or red. Any kind of furniture that is dark like dark wood or black. Simple, but fun. Maybe some cool accents here and there, like movie posters, pictures of friends.

I'd say go for a modern and classic feel. Neutral colors. Maybe camel tan walls with white trim and black or dark brown furniture.

You have to have a theme that he chooses. Allow him 100 dollars or so to choose paint, bedding, posterts, etc. Then hit the second hand stores together and let your creative sided embellish....

do you have a favorite sports team? You could go with their colors. Or blue and grey are always safe. Camo or denim is cool too.
