Some things are going to vary by region, but here's a starter list of ideas:

Bride wears white
Father walks bride down aisle
First dance
Father/Bride & Mother/ Groom dances
Rehearsal dinner
Garter and Bouquet toss
Bridal party (more than one witness for each side)
Bouquets for females in bridal party
Reception "favors"
Bride and Groom don't see each other day of the wedding
Flower Girl / Ring Bearer
"something old something new..." (but go look up the original saying from the Victorian era - you'll find Americans forget a line!)

In some cultures:
Money Dance
Jumping the Broomstick
Coins / Cord / Veil in ceremony
Jew glass stomping thing (sorry, don't know what it's called!)

Bride should wear a penny in her shoe for good luck.
Bride should have all bridesmaids sign the bottom of one of her shoes. The person who's name is worn off the most at the end of the night is the next to get married.

Let's see. Girls wear white dresses (if it's there first marriage) we like to have the bride/groom dance, and the father/daughter dance. The cake, we do vows, and rings.

I hate to be harsh, but I would search on places other than here.

Does your school have free databases? Try those.
Try www.freearticles.com.
Try google scholar.

You'll want to back up your facts with reliable sources, not just strangers spouting off what they did at their wedding.

something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Groom is not supposed to see the bride before the wedding. (I am shocked by how many people skip this one nowadays! It's always been know as being bad luck!)
