I personally am not saying they taste good! I'm saying why MANY OTHER people say they taste good!!!

Actually, I'll post the answer right now (which is 30 minutes from the time I posted the question)
It's because McDonald's cooks their fries in oil made from animal lard. So, if you're a vegitarian, then you can't eat McDonald's fries!

Personally, I find Burger King's fries tastier.
I thought that McDonald's fries were made from a batter that was poured into a pan of different shaped fries.

I personally do not like them.. I am myself now curious .. but again everyone has different taste buds and can't expect everyone to be one and the same..
response after your update:
I worked at Mcdonalds all thru my college almost 4 years.. They do not use any oil/shortening with animal fat, They shortening/oil that is use is 99.95% is vegetable shortening, the other.05% is the preservatives. ( I can;t remember the name of the chemical)

Because they have never had home made french fries without the trans fats. Right ????
Most mc Donald`s people can`t get off their fat @sses to actually cook a real home made meal.
