I'm looking for a basis to do a spell for this.....I'm not entirely good at writing spells but I can and will but I'd like to find one as a basis.

Also, I know a lot of magick is sort of grey....but can anyone think of harmful repercussions or karma from this spell?

For those posts (and theres a lot) who are telling me to find Christ....really, don't say anything unless you really know me. I was raised Catholic, and consider myself a blend of many religions, none of which are ever negative. I'm a blend of Christian/Buddhist/Jewish/Wicca and I know that that's not an official religion as a mix, but it makes me happy, I work to make the world, myself, and others to be happy, and that's about that.

there should be no repercussions. it's about banishing bad habits from yourself, no one else.

On the night of a full moon (preferably) or during the Waning Moon, make a quit-smoking gemstone candle. Empower three or more small pieces of amethyst and three or more large pieces of amethyst with the power to remove your addiction to cigarettes. Now make a black candle (this can be done easily by melting those cute little black six-inch household candles over low heat, and then pouring the melted wax into a glass container (which you have prepared with metal tab and wick). Now add the three or more small pieces of amethyst to the melted wax in the glass container. You may also wish to add an appropriate oil, such as Patchouli, to the melted wax, to give it added power. Allow the candle to cool. You may wish to reserve a small amount of wax to "top off" the candle in case it caves in while cooling. Once the candle is ready, you may begin the spell. Place the candle on your altar and ring it with the three large pieces of amethyst. Light the candle and gaze into its flame. Visualize yourself being free from the addiction to cigarettes. Visualize your cravings dissipating. Visualize the toxins in your body being removed.
Hold this visualization for as long as possible.
Now allow the candle to burn down completely. You may wish to repeat this spell for added strength. You may make more candles, or simply use a black candle, ringed with amethyst stones.
When the Waxing Moon period begins, this spell may be reinforced by empowering your amethyst stones with the power to keep you free from cigarettes and using them to circle a white candle.
You may also wish to carry one of your amethyst stones with you to strengthen your magical intention. When a craving starts, simply take the stone out of your pocket and rub it until the craving stops. Remember that magic tends to build upon itself...it grows stronger with repetition... don't be discouraged if you have to repeat this spell several times...it CAN and WILL work…

I don't think there would be any harmful repercussions at all. You're doing good not only for yourself, but for everyone around you--there's no harm in that. Also, it's only for you, so there's no manipulation of anyone else. People in other religions would pray.

A spell is no substitute for thisworldly support--the patch, support groups, friends keeping you accountable, etc--but they can supplement your thisworldly efforts.

This one looked good.

TO CURE A BAD HABIT

To help yourself or another to give up smoking, nail biting or any other unwanted habit, first find nine stands of hair belonging to the afflicted person, and wind them around an iron nail. The nail should then be hammered into a wooden post. The habit is believed to abate as the nail rusts.

Hi there, Congratulations on trying to quit. It is hard, I know, I have been there. Honestly, I have found that you have to really want to stop for yourself, and for your own health reasons. When I stopped, I literally cried every night for a week or so, as I felt so dependent on cigarettes. But I just had made the decision in my mind and there was no going back. I was determined in other words. Avoid places where you know it would be difficult for you to be, ie where you would normally smoke. For me, I just kept thinking of how awful I would feel if I gave in (again!) and also the horrible taste it leaves in your mouth. Not to mention the terrible smell that surrounds smokers, or lung cancer etc. It's just not worth the health risks is it? My children kept on at me how bad it was, and I thought how bad I would feel if they took up smoking - I would feel so guilty. There are herbal remedies that can help, but it is your state of mind that will get you through. Trust yourself and you will be able to do it - no problem!

If it's for you yourself, no, I don't think there would be repercussions or Return from it. If you're wanting to do it for someone else to stop smoking, make sure you have their permission (otherwise it's affecting them without their knowledge and consent, which is mucking with their free will).

Consider using a waning moon (banishment of a bad habit).

A couple of links that have banishing spells that you may want to refer to for correspondences and ideas. Naturally any spell that you write yourself will be more powerful, because you put the energy into creating it instead of just performing it, but these can give you ideas to help construct yours.

Good luck!!

A basic banishing spell should work. Just work your intent to quite smoking in it. As for any repercutions there wont be any. Your intent is to improve yourself not to harm anyone, and as the wiccan rede state

an ye harm none, do what ye will.

When I gave up tobacco I went the hypnosis/self-hypnosis route. It worked quite well but it took a while to lose all the cravings.

If you have any metaphysical friends have them walk you through a guided meditation about cleansing yourself and redirecting the craving energy. I wrote poetry to my wife or to the Goddess when the craving hit hard.

If you don't have friends what can help use a tape recorder to tape your own meditation.

Licorice root tea will also help.

Try the patches, they worked for me. You will get nighmares though, every person I know who has used them got nightmares.

Bet you dont wanna read this but I hope someday you will look to Christ for help and salvation.
I'll say a prayer for you.
