Why would you think you were any better than one of your friends they are your friends because they ARE your equal if they werent you would look down on them or up to them. So i would say that your friend isnt the foolish one.
and on the second part no i wouldnt find it insulting i would find it to be a compliment. an aknowledgement of our friendship

No. Their foolish remember? You can't argue with a person like that. Just laugh it off and say something like, "Okay whatever, I'm just friends with you because you make me feel smart."

I don't find too many things insulting. If I had a friend that thought I was their equal I would be flattered. mainly because I chose them to be my friend and I wouldn't chose anyone I didn't think was my equal. Don't argue go out and have dinner or coffee or something and enjoy your friends companionship!Good friends are hard to find are you willing to lose this one???

No, I wouldn't find it insulting because they're are foolish. And I wouldn't argue with them either. That just makes you like them.

If your friends are foolish, what does that say about you? If you feel superior to others, what does that say about you? If you want to politely argue with someone that they are inferior to you, what does that say about you?
Just a clue: Ego is confusion.

Arguing with a fool is foolish. But yes, how dare they think they're equivalent to the awesomeness that is me!

equal is not an insult. Even if I know I am better I can keep it to myself.
Its the people that slander you in front of others to make themself look better are the ones to watch out for.

Well it depends.... if that person is an alcoholic and dosn't have a job and is just a terrible person then i think i would get some what offended. I don't think i would take it to seriously because its their opinion so just leave it be, they think your their equal not you.
