A very fitting one. Actually a hangover is caused by dehydration. Alcohol causes the liver to work overtime, to do this the liver needs extra fluids so it extracts them from your body causing you to "dry out". To avoid a hangover it is a good idea to drink a glass of water after each glass of alcohol you drink, this has 2 functions: 1. You provide your liver with enough fluids and 2. you get a "full "feeling, causing you to cut down your alcohol intake. If you have a hangover, coffee is a very bad idea because coffee does the same to your liver as alcohol. Just drink plenty of water.

I've never had a hangover. I've gotten so drunk that I vomited on my boyfriend's head and didn't remember it at all (he's told the story so many times...), but the worst I've woken up with is a slightly dry mouth. If hangovers are a punishment, and I don't get them, does it mean that I'm supposed to drink? :)

Depends on which kind you're talking about. There's one for alcohol poisoning, there's one for withdrawal. The first is punishment, the second is a reminder that it's time to drink some more!

It does seem to be.
You need to keep re-hydrated so drink lots of water, the best thing that i have found for a hangover is iron-brew, don`t know why but it works!!
Happy drinking x

alcohol dehydrates you. since the brain is 70% water, you get a headache when it isn't getting enough water. a hangover is also withdrawal from using alcohol. i never do it but getting drunk again in the morning will alleviate the hangover

It is the Alcohol Gremlins.
They are looking for the nuggest in your heads and with their sharpened axes and shovels, will look for these priceless artifacts.
Of course, everyone knows there are no nuggets, but you can't dissuage an Alcohol Gremlin, so they will dig and shovel and hack until they grow tired and take a nap.
Then, the ice weasels come and devour them all.

No, when you drink alcohol it severely dehydrates your body. If you can remember before you go to sleep that night drink 3 or 4 glasses of water. Next morning it won't be as bad.

Yes it is punishment for not being properly hydrated. Drink water between drinks and you will keep from having hang overs.
