It works sometimes, and other times it does nothing. I can open the door with the key but the alarm goes off. I cant start the car or turn the alarm off with the key. Any suggestions on how to star the car with the key alone, or fix the remote starter? My grandpa (previouse owner) said maybe I could do something with the two switches on the underside.

Ford did have a problem with the trunk switch getting water in it a shorting out. Also the hood switch may be out of adjustment. seen that before as well. Water in the keypad can do this as well. Things to check. Try wd-40 the switchs first. It may and may noy fix but its a cheap try if it fixs it.

your lincoln may have a programable key that dont work. you must go to a dealer and have a new key made and programmed to the ignition switch if it has this type of system. a key made at a store does not have the right stuff in it and is not programable. check with your local dealer.
