if I would have the money to buy a masterpiece, I wouldn't get a painting... don't worry I'll get something expensive .. I would rather save it up for a house! With a lot of space, the doors would be open for lots of children, I will have a playroom, An activity Room, and guest rooms for poor children ... oh yeah ...
what a painting??? for what???? People don't know how to use their money ...

I'd get a reproduction and spend the money on something else. I wouldn't want to worry about owning anything expensive. The repro would look almost the same anyway. The expensive paintings should be in museums.

Go for a great non-figurative piece, something u can live with for years. But u may require some counsel by a knowledgeable expert.

It will cost u, obviously, but, as u say, If u had the money.

Otherwise u could buy junk. And some junk is very costly.

A View of Toledo by El Greco is one of my favotites. Another one that I like is the Sistine Madonna by Rafael Sanzio. The cherubic little angels are painted near the bottom of Mary's feet.

I am more interested in famous art, not so much the most expensive tastes. I would buy a Thomas Kinkade because I love his paintings.
