I would agree with Max Power's answer. Its DEFINITELY worth it to move to LA. It may be crowded but its the bomb here!! We have beaches, mountains, lots of cool places to hang out and GREAT weather. You might also want to check out SFV (san fernando valley) with areas like North Hollywood and Van nuys, they are a lil' bit cheaper too. Theres a website called roommates.com where you can find roomies, and westside rentals (small fee but tons of info) is a good source for finding a place. Don't forget about Craig's list and recycler.com.

Well I for one am living in Los angeles. It depends on your life style. I suggest like finding something 20minutes from LA it wont as expensive. Try long beach, lynwood, south gate. You could find studios for about 600 to 700 a month. 1 bedroom for about 800-950 amonth. or try to find rentals from people who have a house and a smaller room (almost like a garage) for 300-500 dollars. So ultimatly you need at least 1,000 to 1,500 a month to get by for a place to stay and the cost of food and expenses. But If you've never been here I recomended it, the weather is Great (right now its been really hot though) and theres a lot to do. So do IT!

Just be prepared for the rent, it's high compared to NC. The metro area is very spread out so you have a lot of options when looking for a place to live. Just keep in mind that our traffic is horrible. The farther you are from your work place and anything going towards downtown on work days is crazy. I worked 12 miles from my job and it could take me an hour to hour and a half if i was on the freeway, so budget your rent, gas, car payment well and you'll be fine. Have fun.

Try $500-$1000/month for rent.
You'll need food which is about $10 per day if you cook.
Gas is about $3.30 per gal or about $30/week, depends how much you drive.
You'll need a car.
Don't move here unless you have a job or lots of money.

you will need lots of money, especially for a psychiatrist to get your mind straight after living out there is wierdo land. NC is a great place, but if you want a city try St Louis, Indy, Denver. stay off the coasts
