Some people explain the evil in the world by saying that evil doesn't actually exist, it's just the absence of god. For people that believe this, my question is, where is god at those times? Why is god absent?

People still don't realize that he gave us free will to do what we choose. We create the wars, the famines, and the genocide. Its not his fault, its ours.

I am answering this, but I am a believer. God is never absent. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, so He cannot be absent. The evil is perpetrated and expressed by human beings. I hope you are a believer. God bless you!

This is the first time I am hearing "the absence of God"...
We all know that we are given will power that makes the decision, and chooses between right and wrong...
God is not absent from any place or region.... In fact, it is us who doesnt have God in our heart. (i.e. we dont remember God enough, for Him to be there)

God isn't absent. However, there are consequences for sin and man sins on a constant basis. The Bible is clear that the wages of sin is death. For example: Say I choose to cheat on my husband. The penalty for that is the death of my marriage. Man has because of our sin allowed alot of evil to come into this world.
I have seen God's working in my life and in the lives of others when I or they choose to allow Him to work. Until Jesus' return sin will only get worse and evil will only get worse.

Man cannot serve two masters. He will love one and hate the other. If you follow God he will lead your path. If you choose to live your way, you invite evil in your life and push God out of your life. Do not look for God when you have chosen the evil path, you will not find God or God's followers their. Choose wisely. If you follow God he will never leave or forsake you, even in the times of trouble.

God isn't absent He's right their watching it all but God's coming soon, these thing happen for a reason and it's leading up to His coming,it's not God's fault we cause all of this stuff to happen and as we cause it He's very saddened but since alot of people don't believe He's their and open up their hearts how can he intervien. God cares about us so much, He'll always be their we just have to reach out and ask for his help and he'll come to our rescue.

Think of God as a beautiful jewel that you found one day. Having this jewel in your possession has brought you comfort and joy. One day while doing something you shouldn't have been doing in the first place, you drop the jewel in the woods. Now, you are going through your life without that comfort and joy. Has God left you or did you leave God? God hasn't gone anywhere. He is still right where you left him, waiting for you to come back looking for him.

Scripture says, "If a sparrow falls, the Father is aware of it."
In light of this, God is present. This life is a test for humanity and believe me, He is watching and is very much aware. It's not a matter of what God does or doesn't do, it's more important to correct what humanity does and doesn't do.
Don't be fooled that God just tosses humanity problems ... humanity creates it's own trouble. Trust me Jack, God is sorting it all out.

Sorry m8 don't believe in god but I do believe that every morning the sun rises or it rains or it snows so we can drink and all these things make plants grow so we can eat,makes grass grow so cows e.t.c can graze so we can eat so we can live so mother nature looks after her own other peoples gods don't they just cause murder and mayhem around the world,so let's ban all religion and make the world a better place to live

Adam let the Devil (satan and his fallen Angel's) into the CREATION (EARTH and Star System). They are REAL, and they are the REAL ENEMY of Human Being's.
GOD is never absent, but HE was Kicked-Out of HIS CREATION when Adam changed God's. HE is on the Outside, trying to Help all Human Being's. When the Contract is up with Mankind (6000 Year's), then HE can come back FULL FORCE.

Because God has gives us agency to choose for ourselves. He won't step in and stop things, unless they get to a point like Sodom and Gamorah, Noah's time, or other times. God it still there, all you have to do is pray. He will help you with any problem you have. Just because there is evil in the world doesn't mean you have to live it!
