I grew up with him but havent spoken or seen him in 8 years..His brother just died and it said he died accidentally...
How do I find out how he died?

Just ask - People are so afraid to ask.......My husband died and people wanted to know how......My friends would not ask but strangers would......Just ask.....Be Bold. Be Brave....Be yourself and sincerely ask.......

Call your best friend and ask. Be supportive and find out when the funeral is. Go to the funeral to show your support, if you can. If not, send flowers or something. Best to be sympathetic in these situations.
