Dude, it's a work of fiction, not a documentary. The motive is the same as that for filming any other movie. The reason any movie is made is to make money at the box office.
As far as the relation to Jesus Christ, the idea that Christ had children by Mary Magdalen and the bloodline has been secretly protected for the past couple of thousand years is not a new one.
The book as well as the movie are simply trying to capitalize on this idea.

Davinci Code and the author are heretic who have no regard for Sacred Holiness. He lunched an assult on the Diety of Jesus Christ and somewhat blasphemed the Holy Spirit. How I wish he knew the implications of what he has done. Surely he will pay heavily for it, if he does not repent and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. This does not mean that Christians are calling for his head, but the only danger for him and those engaging in such acts is that the Lord Jesus Christ said that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven - see the Gospel of St. Mark 3:28-29, Matthew 12:31-32.
If it were other religious groups, hell would have let loose on him and probably a lot of mahem and destruction of life. But Christians do not engage in such voilent and wantom destruction in defense of the faith, that however is not to say we tolerate it.
We pray for him and hope that he gets forgiven, but the word of God cannot be broken.

that movie has some false info in it, so it's not all true. but anyway, the davinci code is about (mostly about) the painting "The Last Supper". For some reason Davinci replaced some guy sitting to the right of Jesus with this girl (mary or something with an m). people think Davinci was trying to tell us something through that change.

The Davinci Code had the same motivation behind it's writing as the Bible did originally, it is a work of fiction designed to manipulate the human mind into believing something that is only a parable is really truth.
As children are told stories to teach them morals, so the monks who wrote the bible chose to teach the uneducated of the time.

There motive to make the film was to make a great deal of money. The controversy is needed to gain the interest of the public. But the Da Vinci Code does not shed light on Jesus...just speculation. But it can be entertaining if seen in the appropriate perspective. I think that the Christian community blew it way out of proportion. These were not new ideas.

The premise of the book and the movie is that Jesus Christ took Mary Magdelen as his wife and Mary bore Jesus's child and that his bloodline continues to survive, being protected by an organization called the Priory of Zion. It also proposes that the Catholic Church wants to end the line to protect its own interests.

dan brown wrote the book and it was made into a movie,it is a work of fiction as the movie producers say it is but it was adirect insult to christianity as it disputes the facts of the religion, the directors could have used any other name in the movie other than jesus and magdalene, it has caused many christians to call for a ban on the movie and the book,, i dont think any one has the right to hurt any ones faith and belief cause that what it did do, but let me just say the faithful will survive all the ridicule in the world cause thats what faith is all about

the DaVinci Code is a novel (that means fiction) written to entertain. in it, the author weaves a story of mystery, puzzles, and intrigue, a "treasure hunt", and he refers to popular myths and some actual organisations within the Catholic church.
even the author urges people not to take everything literally or as fact
lighten up

Jesus and Mary both came from extremely wealthy families. Mary should have been the 'Christ' but since men saw women as nothing besides items their only choice was to name Jesus as Christ.
