Do you remember the English salads of our youth? Two leaves of lettuce, a hard boiled egg, a rolled up piece of ham and some grated carrot? Put me off for life!

I like a garden salad with iceburg or Boston Bibb lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. I like Athenos Greek Feta Cheese dressing on it. Add a thick, meduim rare sirloin steak, a helpin' of baked beans and a massive baked potato with sour cream/onion soup dressing on it, and you've got a dinner! Enhance it with a good beer, like a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or a Fat Tire Ale and it's nirvana on your dinner table. Finish it off with a huge slice of German Chocolate cake with ice cream on it and you've done it right. Enjoy!!

The big ones I used to make in cafeteria lines. However, at home, I like to use lettuce, rocket, watercress, some fresh herbs (tarrogon, basil, rosemary), pepper, salt, and olive oil. With croutons and white wine.
