a citizen or a legal immigrant without expired papers? Sorry dude, but your rhetoric no longer makes us afraid of the PC police.

No, it is not hateful, not racist; the issue is about the law and what is right? Illegal Aliens deserve nothing from the USA and legal US citizens. Anything they receive while illegally here is akin to stealing.

I didn't personally see JW's post about immigrants and benefits, but I'd have to disagree with him about it being hateful to demand that people follow the laws of the country they live in.

Last time I checked, only diplomats were provided immunity.... and I even think THAT'S cooky. I think that, if you take on the priviledge of living in a foreign country, you should have a basic knowledge of the language and should be reasonably expected to observe the laws of the land.

If you chose to break those governing laws, thereby disrespecting the government and the citizens who were born under the law and who DO follow it... you do not deserve those benefits that are afforded the citizens who are here legally (either through national right, ancestory or legal immigration).

Sorry, but that's my opinion... and I wish more government leaders would take that kind of stand. I don't think the borders should be closed by ANY means. If anything, I think that the immigration process should be made easier so that people would be more inclined to go about coming to the United States through honest, less dangerous means. But those who break the law should be punished.... like anybody else would be.

I think part of what's going on here is a major re-definition of what america is, and isn't. One thing we're not is the Global Welfare Office. Other countries need to build their own damn hospitals, schools, roads, and businesses etc. Enough of this. There's 6.5 billion people on this planet, and no, not even the US economy's big enough to support em all. They need to do for themselves.
We can help, maybe, but we can't do it FOR em.

I don't think it's hateful to demand it. But, they don't deserve it if they're not a citizen either because they didn't pay the taxes that go into it in the first place. It's not difficult.
