The imagination you have now and the knowledge you have gathered will be the heaven you go to. The things that make you most comfortable and the people who are like minded. It is one of the laws of magnetism -- like attracts like ...we are energy with magnetic properties.
Anyways why I am saying this is this, look at all the different versions of heaven.
Another thing is that you are creating it right now. You can pull heaven through into this world.

I'm trying to figure out what your tone is here. It may be that you have a hard time believing in the afterlife because you are young enough that you may not even experience it, due to living in the last years of the history of the world as we know it. Do you want an interesting answer? I believe that life as we know it here on earth continues much the same way it does here, only without all the gross stuff, sickness, disease, and death. You keep learning and growing and working and developing talents. It is not reincarnation - rather, it is another stage of the same life. After the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, I believe that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory, and following the Resurrection many if not all of those have ever lived on the earth will be living here again, but with immortal and perfect bodies which are not subject to the principles of entropy and disease or disabilities. We might be surprised to find out that some or many of those who have been living with disabiltiies most of their lives will have bodies and abilities similar to some of the best athletes. I believe that we have a Millennial period coming up under the direct authority of Jesus Christ, but it has not started yet - it may be 15 or 20 or 25 years away (no one is allowed to know). It's up to you if you want to learn more about that in your own due time. I believe that there are different levels of "heaven" but everyone will be given every possible chance to hear and understand the full Gospel of Jesus Christ before any Final Judgment is made, including hearing it after they die, as needed. This is from a Mormon point of view, by the way (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

It seems pretty clear that after death you're gone, as far as having experiences goes anyway. It is of course possible that there's some kind of life after death, but there's no evidence for it, and the smart money would obviously be on "nope, it's all over".
I don't see why you'd say "there's got to be more to it than just living for a lifetime then dying". That's obviously the most likely thing. Of course what that suggests is that we should make sure that "living for a lifetime" is done well (as so dramatically suggested in Thornton Wilder's "Our Town").
I do like your idea that there be more choices than just heaven, hell, and nonexistence. Other religions of course do offer other possibilities, but of course they're all just wild speculation, based on nothing but imagination.

As someone who has actually died and come back due the miracles of medical science let me assure you that there is so much more waiting for us. It is difficult to describe but you are surround by total and complete love. It permates you and surrounds you. There is no pain (at least until I was brought back then boy was I in pain). People was loved are waiting for us to join them and there is no sense of anxiety, worry or sense that you are not worthy.
God holds you in His arms are lets you know that you are loved and that you will be ok. Even when you are sent back because you have something that you still must do before you can rejoin Him. Everyone has a purpose. Some of use never find our path, other choice to ignore it and others follow their path..no matter what we were given Free Will by God. The decision to follow Him or not to follow him is our decision. Hope this helps. (PS I have hears all the "statements" about what a near death experience is...especially because I have seizures ...they say it is because of chemicals that are released by the brain and is simply a chemical reaction. I have had numerous seizure but only one near death experience and that was when I was clinically dead. ) Also my daughter when she was 3 underwent a cardiac cath and was given medication she was allergic too. She had to be coded and when she got out of the hospital all she could talk about were the angels and she drew these all the time. She is now 21 and no one can convince her that heaven does not await her. 3 year olds do not even understand the concept of death or heaven. Hope you find your path.

Yes, there is not just a lot more but eternity out there. 70-80 years of life on earth versus eternity. And even those 70-80 years are not all productive. Once you take out the childhood years and the years of old age, we are left with only 40 or so years of really productive life on earth.

Ever see the movie "Defending Your Life" starring Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks? Obviously it is a fictional story, but interweaves some interesting possibilities. You might check it out.

It all depends what you believe. I believe in Jesus, so basically i have two choices, either live eternally with God in paradise, or spend my days in hell. Thats a pretty big choice, and thats all we need, not some in between place or alternative is one or the other. And guess what? You get to decide!

Huh...I've never heard someone who's not fully convinced of an afterlife call "not existing" far-fetched...that is, as one-third of your question predicted, what I believe, but I'm more interested in hearing what you suggest?

Not existing seems far fetched? Life didn't begin when you were born. You didn't exist prior to that, so why is not existing far fetched? You make no sense.

I strongly suspect things are a lot more complicated than we have managed to guess so far. A further adventure...
