I often get asked by tourists to take photos of them, especially in Paris. Maybe they feel confident when they see me with a digital SLR dangling around my neck and the gear I carry with me.
Anyway, it is always a bit strange to try to take a photo with a camera you have never had in hand, even if it is in full auto mode. The viewfinder is different, the AF sometimes behaves erratically, the screen at the back shows alternatively wildly overexposed or underexposed views...
Other weird things things about this kind of situation :
- people often choose the poorest situation for me to take the photo: typically with the sun in front or when it is too dark for their flash to work efficiently
- they never bother to check the results when using a digital camera. They grab it back and move on. Either they are very confident in my skills with their gear or they do not really care!

They are afraid to mess up or appear stupid for not being able to figure out the camera even after you explained the directions.
