It's about damn time!
This should be federal law.
We need to start passing no tolerance laws.
No proof of citizenship? Fine, no free medical, cash benefits, food stamps, subsidized housing, utility subsidies, education, school lunches, etc.
I'm so tired of everyone saying the illegals pay in taxes. NO THEY DON'T! They work off the books/under the table. There are NO taxes taken out or reported. And for those who DO pay through a phoney SS#, in the end, they still live below the poverty line & take more than they put in.

We have let our guard down for so many years. The trusting and giving nature of this country had been read by so many of whom had taken advantage of the softness and weaknesses portrayed and abused it. I don't know of any country, outside of Canada and the U.S., that didn't require a passport to gain entry. We should have been on the bandwagon from the get-go! Our loose borders has been a problem for decades. What I don't understand is why it has taken this long for tragic measures to be taken to tighten them? They had money to spend on wasted programs that could have funded the added security this country needed YEARS ago! So,WHY didn't it happen? WHY did it have to cost the lives of so many innocent citizens for the wake-up call to be sounded? It had been there in black and white all along. But NO, everything else was more important. The security of ALL of our borders, especially Shore Patrol. That should have been heightened A LONG TIME AGO!!!!! Better late than never, I guess!

"It will just put them into hiding. It won't drive them out of Colorado," she said.
That was a quote from some "save the world" whiner in the article. You know what? It may not drive them from Colorado, but it will make it less comfortable, and will reduce the financial burden on the people of the state.
It's a great first step and I applaud the state for what they've done. Maybe we can get the Governator out here in the People's Republic of California to do something similar.
Not likely, but I can still dream....

people say that "illegals" take only jobs Americans dont want to do. Fact is they do jobs americans dont want to do for five dollars an hour. Its lose lose. the illegals make JUST enough to live, meanwhile the american that would have done the same thing for nine bucks earns nothin, collects our tax money and NO-ONE prospers. well....exept for the employer who yet again lengthens the gaps between the lower, middle and upper class

MAYBE IF ALL THE STATES DID THIS SAME ACT IT WILL DRIVE THEM OUT OF THE U.S. AND BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM. I THINK THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE A CHILD'S PARENTS BE LEGAL SO THEY CAN ATTEND SCHOOL HERE. WHY DO THEY GET ALL THE SERVICES LIKE MEDICARE, CHIP, AND WELFARE IF THEY ARE NOT U.S. CITIZENS? I DON'T WANT MY HARD EARNED $ GOING TO THEM, YOU KNOW THEY WORK BUT BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT DOCUMENTED THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T KNOW THEY DON'T NEED ANY OF THAT STUFF.

Most states are suppose to be doing that anyway, but its good to see a bill requiring it, showing the cracks in the system will help build it stronger.....

It's a great first step...my problem is are they actually going to check on peoples status or just turn a blind eye...and what will the penalties be if a social worker knowingly turns a blind eye??
