What am I?

Question

1. When I go in I might cause pain. I cause you to spit and ask
you not to swallow. I can fill your hole. What am I?

I really thought it was more than one thing but, there was not enough information about that in the beginning, but, why did you tell the answers without picking the first person who got them all right........
