I was brought up Christian, don’t get me wrong.
Everything I learn was taught to me (should I dare to say brain washed to believe) , but without facts or evidence, and there are so many ubiquities.
Plus in the past they used to torture or incarcerate anyone who went against the religion. But one of the commandments thou shall not kill. But they did, if you said anything agains them, that proved the bible was inaccurate.
Example Christmas birth date of Jesus , he wasn’t born on the 25 of December, and why does this follow one calendar, and Easter follow another.
There is tons of evidence on evolution, but almost nothing about creation no real dates. Even the Bible was written decades after the fact, and has been re-written a dozen time, meanings change over time.
Why does the church try to cover up?
Or Re-interpret to make it fit
I was also taught other religions was false (thou shall not have false gods) no wonder so many wars start because of religion
Confused

Please do not add scripture, give me facts, evidence, if god is here, there’s no proof.
Tell me

What is Jesus real birth date? It is not Dec 25.

Rather than confuse your question with one of the validity of faith or the evidence as you have put it, I will answer it this way.

As a non-christian, I do not just believe but have faith. My faith is unwavering because I have chosen to lay my life in the hands of the universe and to accept fully whatever comes as best I can. It makes life a little easier, to know that there is a purpose to all of the heartaches and disappointments as well as the abundant happiness. Perhaps it is coincidence, perhaps simple serendipitous happenstance, but for whatever reason, whenever I have most needed the help, and most needed the support, I have had faith that it would come, and it did. In the end it proves nothing to anyone but me; it keeps me faithful.

Faith doesn't require religion, symbols or even iconography. One can believe in anything and as long as it continues to prove itself, or justify its own reason for being, they will be faithful. It takes as much effort to believe that toasters toast with electricity, or that numbers explain the universe, or that Jesus was the son of God, or that Buddha truly found nothingness. Truthfully they are each as valid as the other. The difference is how you know, and how you believe. Regardless of which of those I believe and for whatever reason, as long as they prove themselves to me, I continue to believe. I have faith

please dont think that there are tons of facts to support evolution.

i challenge anybody and everybody to do the following:

a) show me where a lizard layed a bird egg, which is what the evolutionary gurus say produced all of todays fowl.
(everybody i know, that has an iguana or other reptile will tell you that if a chicken popped out of momma-lizard's egg, that the lizard would have eaten that little chicken-thing)

b) not too long ago, we were told of a TOOTH that was found in the northern-part of the midwest usa. immediately we were told of the significance of this find, that it was an early ancestor of man, dating back several thousand years. no other remains were found at that important site.
(it was less than ten years later, that they had to admit that the tooth was actually that of modern day javelina (hog) that still roams the area, in the wild)

c) recently one of the learning channels aired a series of episodes detailing the "hobbit" that has been found in the wild african plains. this was evidence of the common ancestor of man and ape.
(the finds were real. the problem was that carbon dating put them back only a few dozen decades...and then they proved through DNA that they were actually part of the pygmy tribes that lived in that region, before industrialization took over)
those who produced the shows used the word "hobbit" because they knew that with the recent release of the tolkien book-based movies, that it would garner the interest of the people.

as for the bible being inaccurate, you can find historical documentation of many of the persons of the bible, in texts, other than religious ones. even Jesus is found in some of the texts. He lived, He was a rabbi, and He was crucified. it is the divinity of the embodiment of Christ that is not proved, without faith.

many of the calendar events were guessed at. much of it, because the jews did not use a 365 1/4 day. so the use of a calendar is not accurate, by our design, since we use the solar year.

also, many of the holidays were placed around other holidays that were worshipped by the pagan culture. easter is not only the rising of Christ from the tomb, but also correlates to the spring festival that the pagans recognize as being a fertility rite, since so many animals are born in the spring. also so many humans, since there is a lot of snuggling in the winter blankets. :)

do not take my word as being 100%, since i am still learning as well. i am a christian, but i am also a full time soldier and an amateur scientist. i study the bible....and i study the sciences so that i can prove the record of the bible. the divinity, i take on faith.

The term "Christian" actually means "a follower of Jesus Christ".
But, let's face it...many who call themselves Christian follow the
world and not Christ. To follow Christ means to go a way other than the way the rest of the world is going. You know the things the world is about, like, "look out for No. 1"; "there are many paths to God"; "it's all in how you look at it"; etc.

I'm sorry that the "Christian Church" has let you down and left you confused. But a real church is not a building or a denominational institution. The true meaning of Church is a body of people committed to following Jesus Christ. Remember,
the institution you were raised in let you down; God did not. As a matter of fact, God is faithful to us even when we have been unfaithful to Him.

The Bible was written over a period of 2,000 years; the congruity of this written word is amazing for such a time span. Did you know that in the early 60's a shepard boy found copies of some of the Old testatment books, painstakenly copied by a group of Jews called the Essenes (I think that is the right spelling); are you
aware that it followed the original septuagint, word for word? The Septuagint is what a group of Jewish scribes wrote around 400 BC to make sure that a copy of the original text of God's word would survive, intact.

Yes, the Word of God has been copied many times and boy that's a lot of work and the person who undertakes such a task
would take it extremely serious. God's word tells us that the evidence of His existence is in everything we see around us and that the day we stand before Him; we are without excuse.

Don't count God out; he doesn't discount you. You are more important to Him than you can ever imagine. This very moment
He is calling your name. Answer Him and He will light your way
through this dark and confusing world.

God Bless.

Why do I believe? Well its called faith. Being able to believe and trust things you can't explain. I've been through a lot of things in my life, and witnessed great tragedy, and I can honestly say the only way I was able to survive was through my religion, and my relationship with God. If you haven't been through something that has brought you so unbelievably close to the Lord that you can't deny His grace, love, and power, then I guess I can't help you understand.
As for facts and scientific research I suggest you read a book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Stroble (I'm not sure on the spelling) He also has books on Creationism and Faith. There is a full edition and a Students edition the only difference is the length. These books are fabulous, and if you are unsure about Christianity and would like to learn more please check them out.
I hope this has been helpful... God Bless,

People say they have to see it to believe it but I see God working in my life. I feel his presence every day. People think it is a little chill or something and that means God is real but when you really feel God and have an experience with him, you KNOW that he is real. the way I felt God is more real than many things I can physically touch at any given time.
As was said, there is a lot of fact in the Bible too. Why do you need dates? I guess that is why the Bible says it is about faith. It is a substance of things unseen. Blessed is the person who did not see Jesus but believes.
My advice is just to pray. Ask God to reveal himself to you and show his presence in your life. Be open. God never disappoints.
Don't give up, honey, God is all you need.
No church is perfect and there are mis-interpretations from time to time but the church does not save you, God does. Do not let that get you down.
Hope that you get encouraged and get some clarification.

Why do you seek information that dose not exists, just because the bible was written dose not lend proof to one single word that Christ or God for that matter even exists, all of this came after the fact, I don't know about you but I have a hell of a time trying to remember what I said a week ago let a lone 100 yrs after his death I believe there is a higher power and I get that from the beauty that surrounds me, I simply know man never made me I do know that someone or something made this universe we all are a part of and you will never get that answer until the day you die, just believe in your self and that's believing in God.

I am sure you know that as far as actual dates are concerned, there is discrepancy. In our family we celebrate 12/25 because it is a national holiday but we also leave our Christmas tree up so that the whole time is acknowledged. We chose to share with our family everything. That does not in any way mean the Bible is inaccurate, but I do agree that decades after it has been rewritten many times meanings have changed. Bottom line, I know that Jesus loves me and my family and if we have been following a tradition set by this time and date we live in He will not have a judgment against us because of it. The real truth, the real reason for the season, is that He came for our sakes, and He died and rose again so that we may live eternally with Him. I don't in any way doubt that, and I will keep you in my prayers =)

You are going to drive yourself crazy trying to figure any of your admirable (but very vague and general) life questions. I know because I have tried and have come to the conclusion that not everything can be answered, and that I don't "need" to know everything. I'm happy knowing that, in the end, Jesus has my back and is going to see me through my life, and into eternity when that time comes because I trust Him as the Scriptures state in many, many places (one being Romans 10). I've taken a sober look at evolution and Creation - and the "evidence" is just not there for evolution. My heart screams out that I am created in the image of God. The "fact" that I have evolved from a single-cell organism all the way to a monkey to my present body is alittle ridiculous in my opinion. It takes just as much, if not more faith to believe in evolution than it does Creation. There is much to debate on both sides, so all I can request is that you keep searching for the truth and don't give up. Your life is far too valuable to waste it on things that don't make an eternal difference. All of our hearts are searching and longing to know the truth. The truth is with God. God has everything, but He wants you. It is His desire that you draw close to Him (see James 4:8) because He's promised that if you do, He will draw close to you. Free will is a beautiful gift. Being close to the Lord is what fills the emptiness in our hearts. He has filled mine with His love, peace, compassion, mercy and forgiveness. It's only because of what Jesus did...He is the bridge to connect all humans back to good standing with God. Thank Jesus for doing that for us all. He is what is important, not human error (the church). Put your focus on what matters - and allow the Lord to draw near to you.

It is your choice. If we assume that there is no God, but we still believe in him and his message, it is still beneficial for us because the things that religion says are for our benefit. But if there really is a God and the things that he has said are true, then we had better win because if we lose, the consequences will be BAD.

I don't think with our present knowledge we can prove God. There are many physical phenomena that are in front of our eyes, that we cannot prove. Maybe in the future human beings are able to prove him. But in our present condition, its a bit like asking an ant to prove the special theory of relativity.

And we have to keep in mind that absence of proof is not proof of absence. And this statement is applicable in science.

I fully believe in God even though I cannot prove him. I believe the Prophet. I am sure he was telling the truth. He never lied to anyone.

Just a pack of lies that Satan tells the world each and every day

I beleive in God because its worked out for, life has worked out for me and my family, a very good testimony, and not because we were atheist, or because we were evoulutionist or darwinists but because we beleived and served God

JESUS wasnt born on the day we celebrate his birth

you said you were brought up Christian ,doesnt mean you were actually serving God

there is NO truth in evoluiton, there are many missing links

where in the bible does it say people were killed because they said something against them

and i dont know why people keep telling you the bible is fake, maybe you should READ it.
