I'm sure he doesn't want us to forget him, but if he is the holy father wouldn't he want his children to mature and be able to take care of themselves instead of always asking him for help?

no, god gave us free will. If we were to depend on him 'like little babies' he would not have done that.

If you had studied God through His Bible, and given it any serious consideration, you'd realize that we, as mighty as we think we are, ain't sheeiiitttttttttttttttttttttttt compared to Him, so to call ourselves "babies" in the light of God is a compliment. Don't let your ego get the best of you. I've, . . . what's that so popular phrase . . . oh, "been there; done that", and let me give you some first hand advice, . . . one day along the way, while you're figuring it all out for yourself and just cruisin' right along, your world's gonna come crashing down like you could never believe, and you'll be prostrate (not prostate, as in prostate gland) on the floor, or sewer or gurney in a hospital, in total tears or delirium, wondering just what in hell ran over you. And when other people in the world pick you and all your pieces up, like Humpty-Dumpty who fell off the wall, you may finally figure out that it was exactly that, Hell, that just ran your *** over, and didn't even blow you a kiss on the way by. So don't feel immature or inept when you keep on having to ask God what He would want you to do in all the given circumstances you'll face in life. Be God-awe-full glad you had Him to ask, and then you won't have to ask, in your blubbering, sobbing, incoherent state, just what that was that ran you over and didn't give a damn to stop and ask how you were. God Bless you.

When we have HIS spirit living in us, then we depend upon him to guide us in what we do. We know to do certain things as he has told us to do them and we do them all the time, but deciding what new thing to do on our own without asking him his opinion is pure ignorance. He is the creator and knows what should and shouldn't happen.. We are given a multitude of good things that he says that we can do and ususally know what is right or wrong.. It will always be a Father / Son relationship with him.

He's a Father. While we're spiritual babies, He totally expects us to act like babies. As we mature in spirituality, He expects us to behave accordingly. He also has patience beyond any earthly father. He is not constrained by time like our fathers are. He will always be there to pick us up and hold us when we fail. No matter how old you get, you will always be God's child. It's ok to act like it. You will never be His equal. He doesn't ever expect you to be.

Yes, I believe that God wants us to worship Him. But we're also supposed to grow in our relationship with God (Hebrews 5:12-14): http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=65&chapter=5&verse=12&end_verse=14&version=31&context=context

By growing, we learn more how to discern issues for ourselves. But even as I grow I still find that I need that help from God. Just not for the same issues. Just as things get more complex as we grow in our physical bodies and in the world, we grow up in our relationship with God.

I think of God not only as my savior and friend, but as my teacher and guide. The Bible is my textbook to teach me.

Worshipping Him is just the icing on the cake. It's a way to thank him for everything that He does.

No...faith in Jesus means trust in everything. I thank Him for every breath I take...for the work I have...for safety travelling to work...to guiding my life to do His will. We can do nothing apart from Christ.

Maturing in spiritual growth, i.e. faith, is called sanctification -- the process of becoming more Christlike. This is both with and without our concious intervention -- the Holy Spirit also works within us. The process will not be complete until we see Christ in heaven...or the air during rapture.

Of course He gives us a brain and abilities to take care of ourselves, they do not absolve us from relying and trusting and ascribing every ability to Christ working through us, and enabling us. We ought to have profound gratitude for all Christ has done for us, and truly make Him Lord of our life.

I am not a bible scholar or anything like that but here is what GOD says about praise.... Psalms 150 PRAISE ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: (you are his mighty acts) praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. LET EVERY THING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD...

HE is there, like any good FATHER would be, watching out for us...

HE knew we werent able to stop "sinning", so HE made a way for us to make it into Heaven, by Sacraficing HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST for our sins! Through his Death, Burial, and Resurection, we are able to get to heaven if we Repent our sins, and get baptised in the name of the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT.

Our FATHER still loves us, and has set JESUS in charge of Heaven and Earth, so that we may follow HIM...

I wish you well..

Jesse

No, he wants us to learn to depend on him. He loves us and knows what is best for us, but he gave us free will so that we could decide for ourselves wether we will follow him or not. Wouldn't you want an all-knowing, all-seeing guidance counselor who really cared about you. What is wrong with that?

Do it all on your own, see how far that gets you. Be my guest, I prefer to rely on him.
