Same as in any other country.

Using the word 'British' covers a huge range of people.
Scottish, English and Welsh people have many differences from each other yet also many similarities.
In England, northeners and southerners are very different and in Scotland people from the Islands live in a very different culture than those on the mainland.

Also to all of the people who answered saying that British people had bad teeth - that is a ridiculous and ignorant thing to say. I have perfect teeth and so do all my friends and work colleagues. The people with bad teeth are the minks. A minority. The same goes for people in America. I guess alot of Americans have good teeth but I would hazard a guess that a very similar proportion of people there as those in Britain have bad teeth.

On a similar subject - what do people dislike about non-Brits??
Their ignorance.

Good things:
1. Cricket
2. Fair Play
3. The Common Law
4. Shakespeare
5. Trusts (as in "settlement trusts")

Bad things:
1. Haggis
2. Europhobia (as in "wogs begin at Calais")
3. The weather
4. Public transport ("sorry guv, train's been cancelled; leaves on the rails you know")
5. Lack of public control, which is part and parcel of the State having its (admittedly ambiguous) goals confused by external norms imposed by (1) the Human Rights Act 1998, (2) the European Communities Act 1972 and (3) the Geneva Refugee Convention 1950. (Britain, unlike the States of Continental Europe, depends on border controls for immigration management. It also is tied in knots by a mixed commitment to an undefined "multiculturalism". That's perhaps in principle a good thing, but it puts at risk what is "British" in favour of a vague post-modernist mishmash.)

British people have a better sense of humor than most Americans, I'd say it's a 'dry' sense of humor as opposed to 'slap stick' in America. British people are very friendly and welcoming too and don't judge as much as most Americans do.

Bad things....their teeth!

British people are generally cold. It all about me me me! they don't sit round the table to eat as a family they sit in front of the tv instead with a burger.
Good points: not many oh they don't like to complain or make a scene

One thing I hate about the British is their smug attitudes towards Americans, the British I have encountered all seem to have a superiority complex.

British are under achievers and like to attempt to ride on the coat tails of others achievements. Extremely poor listeners and poor learning skills. They tend to let there mouths overflow with ridiculous statements until there is conflict and the coward out and look for some one to finish there battles

Bad teeth - get over it - like the poor people in America who have no health insurance and can't afford to get theirs done, take a look closer to home.....you guys can be so ignorant sometimes, so I'm guessing you must be from middle class families who have paid to have their teeth done and not some poor individual who can't actually afford it, try not to be quite so narrow minded
Oh and while I'm thinking about it this is exactly what people mean when they say Americans can be insular and ignorant. Try actually leaving your own state/country to come visit England and see for yourselves.
