Talk to the company who will be billing you and ask for more time to start, they are usually pretty helpful as long as you keep in contact with them and don't ignore the bills.

I was able to defer my student loans until I had a job and was able to pay. Talk to the bank people and ask them for options.

You should sit down with your bank and talk it through. They're the one loaning you the money and they would be the proper people to advise you as to what is outstanding and how you should go about repaying them?

They may have a deferment plan for you if you're unemployed. You'll need to contact them and find out what you have to do to get this arrangement.
