I have a daughter she is almost 8 years old and I have been noticing her body changing. Is it too soon for her to start her cycle? She is very tall and about 90 lbs. I know I started when I was 10 years old. Could she be getting ready?

every girl begins their cycle at different times - it can start as early as 8 and as late the teen years. Since you started around ten, your daughter will probably begin around that time too, but her body could be beginning to change in preparation.

When I was 8 I was maturing also. Though, I didn't start my monthly until age 10. She may start then she may start at your age, most start at age 10. But just incase, talk to her about it. Buy her a purse and some ultra-thin pads and tell/show her how to put them on just in case. She may start when she's 8, she may not start til' age 16. You never know. If your still puzzled ask her doctot about it.

It is entirely possible that she's starting to mature. It is happening at earlier ages than one or even two generations ago. She also has heritage to consider - you started menses when you were 10, so there's a higher likelihood that she will as well.
As a side-note, you should teach her about self-breast-exams. There has been an established link made between early onset of menses and a higher incidence of breast cancer. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah. There is also some disease or disorder that make that stuff come quicker. She may just have a little bit of it, though. If you ever watch the show Maury, there was a girl who got her period when she was a baby. She had some sort of disease.

Could be, with all the hormones added to foods today girls are starting younger and younger. I'd take her to a doctor and have her looked at.

TODAY'S FOODS ARE MORE HORMONIOUS THAN A DECADE AGO. TRY AVOIDING GIVING YOUR CHILD CHICKEN AND MILK.
